    Saw this on Gamboa's facebook.

I think its a bad fight for him personally.

Rios is gonna run him down and take him out mid to late rounds.

If it was say day weigh in Gamboa would kill him.....Rios has been having a terrible time making weight.

But with 24 hours to rehydrate Rios will come in at 150-155 while Gamboa will be 137 at highest...Rios by Decision.

Gamboa must be desperate for fame or MONEY why take this fight?

    I hope you're right.

I said this before in the other thread, but imo this a stupid fight.

Gamboa is clearly the better fighter, but I'm confident Rios is just too big and too tough and strong.

Having said that, the fight being at 135 increases Gamboa's chances a lot. Rios looked fucking shit agaisnt Murray, and like he REALLY shouldn't make 135 again.

rios says he had trouble losing weight in the mountains in mexico because it was so cold. when it was suggested that margarito seemed to have no trouble with the climate he claimed that margarito was already training for several weeks when they arrived so his weight was down. perhaps he is right, and coupled with the fact he wasnt up for the fight with murray, making the weight this time will be no problem. either way this should be his last fight at lightweight.

Gotta take my hat off to Gamboa. I always thought he would be cannon fodder by now, but he's proven himself and don't take on shit competition.

What a weird thing to say, Gamboa is probably one of the most naturally talented guys in the sport, why would you think he'd be cannon fodder?

I hope he's not as weight drained as he was against Murray, because that would be a pointless fight in the reverse way to what I'm thinking.

Him being a bit drained wouldn't be a bad thing though, it would simply negate the massive size advantage he has.

This Bout has that Air of IMPROBABILITY To it, Similar to Pac-Dela or RJ-Ruiz...On Paper, Gamboa & Top Rank Seem FOOLISH for even Considering It...But Gamboa's Been Eye'ing Rios for a WHILE Now, so U Have to Think there's SOMETHING he Sees in Rios, that he Feels he Can Exploit...

Not Sure What it Is, but it'll B VERY Intriguing, Watching it Play Out...If Gamboa Pulls This Off, he's Boxings NEWEST Superstar (for All you "Boxing is Dying" Doom & Gloomers Out There)...

Looking forward to this one. A good test for both. Classic boxer-puncher matchup. I just hope Rios has his weight under control or he's in for a rough night.

I could imagine this being similar to Pacquiao Vs Plasterito, the more I think about it. But I think Pacquiao is significantly better than Gamboa, and I think the Plasterito without wraps is a lot worse than Rios.

I'm picking Rios by late TKO, I think he's just too big and relentless, but I'm rooting for little Yuriorkis to dish out a beatdown. It's an interesting fight either way, as they both represent each other's biggest challenge by a mile.

Unlikely with Manny S in his corner. I see Gamboa getting beat up like Acosta did.

Gamboa's speed is the real key here. He won't let Rios get a stranglehold on the fight.

Speed is king. Gamboa will have GREAT speed advantage and is a better fighter by far. Rios will be the much bigger man fight night however. It's a good fight!

True, but Gamboa is QUITE the Risk Taker when he Fights...Hands By his Sides, Flat Footed, Chin in the Air as he Wings Away...Granted, he WON'T Be Quite that Ballsy Against Rios, but the Mere FACT that he's Stepping Up to the Plate Says Something about him...

REED DOUBTS if Gamboa would Be Content Sticking & Moving his Way to a SAFE Decision Win...His Competitive Arrogance is Off the Charts & he'll Look to HURT Rios @ Some Point...

Whether he CAN or Not, Remains to Be Seen...

Shocking. I thought GAMBOA was a tiny tot? Rios is a huge lightweight. Oh well, this is the only fight I am looking forward to this year.

I'm thinking this too. Gamboa is so much more skilled than Rios. Rios will be huge though so I give him a chance, but I'm going with the skill of Gamboa here.

I agree, I can see Rios getting caught by punches he dosent see. The big question here is the size advantage. I'm sure Rios will be much heavier fight night although that could work against him making him even slower.

After some thinking...this fight might turn into Margarito vs. Mosley all over again...very likely if Rios doesn't recover in those 24 hrs after the weigh-in.

Yeah, but Rios Walks Around IN the 150's & he's a LEGIT 5'8 or So in Height...He's ALOT Bigger & Stronger than Gamboa...& YOUNGER Too, if REED's Not Mistaken...

A STRONG Case Can Be Made for Either Fighter in this Bout...

Hard fight to pick. Rios is risking coming in weak again since he is outgrowing 135

Gamboa is jumping two weight classes to face Rios is pretty badass!

I can see Rios stopping Gamboa but I dont' see Gamboa being as careless in this fight and his overall talent should get him the W!
