Is it fair to judge fights on the basis of hand-speed?

    At first I thought this thread is retarded but I changed my mind when I just thought about it. I agree flashy fast combos are given more credit then the same ones landed minus the speed. Just like in a basketball a guy who will dribble the ball around the defense and do a 360 dunk will get more praise then a guy just shoots the ball and scores the same 2 points. The boxing commentators definatelly give the flashy speedy combos more credit then the slow ones , we should just hope that the actual judges know better.

    He does this a lot now for Khan. Khan will throw a sloppy combo that barely lands, and Lampley gets all excited.

    He did the same for Oscar.

    Though I will say, I think a lot of that was him being the HBO guy. The true object of his man love was Barrera.
