Because he sealed the trilogy with an emphatic win. That's what people are going to remember over 2 close fights.

All the comments on here really underscore how close a fight this is on paper.

Personally I'm taking Edgar. I can still remember how difficult it was for Henderson to catch Anthony Pettis. And consequently how much success Pettis had counter striking. I think Edgar will be even more difficult in that respect AND brings a great wrestling base to the party as well.

If Henderson out strikes Edgar over 5 rounds or out wrestles him, I will be impressed.

    Maynard dominated the first fight.

Yeah, it's funny but when I think back about Edgar-Maynard triology, I consider Edgar ultimately coming out on top. And that's impressive considering how hurt he was in the 2nd and 3rd fights.

Maynard should be 2-1 against Edgar.

even penn himself thought he lost the first fight. i thought the maynard rematch could've gone either way, but the draw was a fair verdict. i guess he's kinda in the same shoes as vernon forrest was after beating mosley twice.

I'm pretty sure he thought he won that fight. The second, no question, he lost and knows it. The first he was not happy.

Bottom line is that in Edgar's last 4 fights he squared off with two of the best LW's in the worlld and neither could clearly beat HIM yet both were clearly beaten BY him.

And the sad truth is that I don't think there was another LW on the planet at the time that could have beaten Penn in the first Edgar fight.

Frankie Edgar is the real deal and if Henderson can beat him, it's a huge accomplishment.

perhaps gomi will win for once since he's not fighting a ufc fighter. he doesn't even look like he's interested in fighting when he steps inside the cage.

hioki better put on a dominant showing if he's really in line to face aldo. either way, he's in for a beating if he ever faces jose.

Hioki has a tall order if his goal is to look dominant.

Why would he be fighting Gomi if he's in line to face aldo? They fight in different weight classes. Unless Gomi dropped to 145

And Rampage weighs in at 211 lbs.

The dude has lacked motivation for years but now it seems to be totally gone. The UFC needs to cut him lose after the Bader fight, which is still on by the way.

Jackson blamed it on an injury early in training camp. He was 232 the morning of the weigh-in and cut 21 pounds.

Bader will get 20% of Jackson's purse, which isn't anything to sneeze at. Rampage has made $250K base salary in his last 2 fights. Bader, meanwhile, made $24K base salary his last time out.

    Good for Bader.

Not only that, but his MMA wrestling is horrible. He is a scrub, and I bet even a fat, out of shake Rampage knocks his ass out.

    Signature bet?

Rampage hasn't knocked in 5 years other than a shot Wandy. Rampage hasn't been able to pull the trigger on punches in a long time. I seriously doubt a fat, out-of-shape, and uninspired Rampage will do much tonight.

I agree. But, for some reason, Bader thinks he is a good striker. Bader throws punches from the floor, and that could play right into Quintins hands.

It's funny how wrestlers get a couple KO's and suddenly want to become strikers.

I'll be pulling for Rampage. And I hope you're right.

I will be pulling for Bader. Bader can get better. Rampage is done.

Man, I thought Edgar won that fight with ease. I am shocked by the decision.

I think the judges were fooled by the blood. Edgar outstruck him, had more takedowns and a knockdown as well.

Edgar clearly won the fight. I had it four rounds to one but ironically and sadly enough 2 judges actually scored it 4-1 to Henderson! Wow talk about bullshit scoring. Poor Frankie

Funny because I just had a friend tell me last weekend that people prefer to watch the UFC now because of instances like the Cloud/Campillo decision. I guess we just cant get away from it. :TLC:

I almost never see fights the same way Joe Rogan does anymore. First, I didn't think Henderson was doing anything. I thought Edgar controlled the fight completely.

Second, as odd as it sounds, Jake Shields gave Akiyama a boxing lesson. Those 2 throws that Akiyama landed didn't make the fight close as Rogan alluded.

Last, I loved Tim Boetsch's win but it was far from the biggest comeback in MMA history as Rogan called it. Boetsch was never really hurt. He was just getting beaten to the punch and got mounted briefly in the 2nd round.

WTF is wrong with MMA scoring these days? It seems to have about a 50% success rate.
