We don't know what Bradley will be like at welter yet. If he tested the waters there and barely scraped by then i would certainly say a Pacquiao victory over him would be diminished. Not meaningless by any stretch but diminished.

Bradley has already fought at 147.

How long ago? I don't recall seeing him at welter.

I didn't even think Pacquiao would be competitive against MAB or Morales, I thought he'd get destroyed. I used to talk so much shit to Slice about him picking Pacquiao over Morales and Barrera.

Yep. If I had to put money on it, it would still be on Pacquiao, but Bradley could very well be the right fighter at the right time.

Bradley is undefeated for a reason, he's not an easy man to beat. To defeat him, I think Pacquiao is going to need to conjure up some of his old school "No Fear" attitude, as opposed to the soft, congressman Pacquiao.

Nope, Sly is impressed with Pacquiao bludgeoning bigger men, so he's a nuthugger too.

loadedgloves is the only non Pacquiao nuthugger on the forum :bears:

I don't understand this statement. If Bradley is going to go back down to 140 immediately after fighting Pac, then we already have a good idea of what Bradley will be like if he weighs 149 lbs. He weighs 149 lbs for his fights at 140 now. Basically what you are saying in that case is "we don't know what Bradley will fight like if he has to cut 2 lbs of water instead of 9." Has drying out ever improved a fighters performance against a fighter of a similar size?

Pacquiao and Bradley are of a similar size, Bradley might actually be a bit bigger. Similarly, Hatton was a bigger man than Floyd - he was at 140 when Floyd was at 130 and by the end of his career he had difficulty making the weight. Hatton's fight against Collazo isn't really analogous here - not only did Hatton come in heavier than he should have for that fight, Collazo is a MUCH bigger man than him. A prime Collazo would likely have given Pac fits as well.

You and Z are the only individuals I'd consider Pac nuthuggers in this thread. I don't recall for sure, but I'm guessing Double L is probably one too.

Watching this makes me realize how ugly the Pac-Bradley fight is going to be.

Pac is the man. You're not a boxing fan if you don't appreciate the run he's been on. That's a fact.

Bradley is a hungry undefeated young lion.

Just thought I'd throw that out there.

The names sounds impressive but if you look at when he fought them, it's really not that impressive. Careful top rank/Roach match making.

His most impressive win at welterweight was his catch weight fight with Cotto.

I give Pac credit for fighting Bradley and for his last fight with Marquez, since i never believed all the shit that Manny was so much better than Marquez. People based it off of what Floyd did to Marquez.

Cotto at 145 is a deadman walking. Gamboa would probably beat him at 145 like Pacman beat up Oscar at 147.

Well everytime he fought Morales he was coming off a loss or losses and/or beatings.

Barrera came off a loss the second time and had virtually no training camp the first time because of the fire at Big Bear.

Virtually no camp is inaccurate. He missed a couple of days.

There was also the steel plate controversy swirling at the time.

I think the main reason MAB lost was his lesbian haircut.

A Pacquiao nuthugger saying I'm not a boxing fan because I don't appreciate his recent handpicked bullshit run is laughable. As far as you and MWS are concerned, if you don't drink a cup of Pac nut every day, you're not a boxing fan. It's not a fact. It's an opinion, and it's a stupid one.

I'd say you're not a boxing fan if you don't recognize that Pac's cherry picked his opponents, and also if you don't recognize that he's a limited fighter who's repeatedly been made to look foolish against Marquez.

    Pre Marquez III:
-Manny must be on PED's. It's the only explanation for those amazing (and unexpected) performances.

    Post Marquez III:
Any fool could see that all those amazing (and unexpected) performances were not so amazing. They were due to careful match-making.

I have never stated that Manny's performances made me suspect he was on PEDs. What made me suspicious initially was his sudden increase in stamina after the first Morales fight, as well as his increase in mass before/during that same period.

But it was his refusal to take tests against Floyd - and moreover, the manner in which he hemmed and hawed over it - which clinched it for me. The people who still thought Manny was clean after that must have also believed that Larry Craig was just a straight man adjusting his shoelaces or whatever in the Minneapolis airport bathroom.

Oh, and re Post Marquez III, I said the latter BEFORE Marquez 3.

The list of historical welterweights who would look 'virtuoso' against Andre Berto, a 40 year old Mosley and a flabby 142lb Marquez would be so long my fingers would wear to stumps

Floyd never fought Berto, but it should be noted that that list does not include Manny Pacquiao.

Indeed. You should swap Oh Boy Oh Berto for cowardly Victor though.
