This fight was supposed to happen a while back. Rios is struggling to make 135 now, Maidana has already said he doesn't belong at 147. Let's say they were to meet at 140..

Rios would definitely win. I'm not sure Maidana has any advantage other than a small size advantage, perhaps a slight edge in brute strength.

It would be a good fight for Rios to test the waters at 140 actually.

I just think Maidana is just pathetically easy to hit and his punches are too slow and too wide

true but he's tough and not easy to take out, and rios is easy to hit as well. maidana has been in with better guys and taking harder punches.

no doubt, he has a real chance to test Rios's ticker. I don't disagree at all. Would be entertaining no matter how it played out.

Rios wins by stoppage if they fought NOW.

Who knows what the deal will be after Rios vs Gamboa.

I mean, maybe Rios beats Gamboa. Or maybe Gamboa does give him a brutal thrashing.

Madonna isn't a big hitter. He made a bitch in ortiz quit. He couldn't stop a completely shot ERIK Morales. Madonna just sucks in every possible way, garbage. Rios would rape him. HE WOULDN'T LOSE A second to Madonna. He couldn't stop CHINA CHINNED A MERE CON EITHER.this one of those times where most of the board is wrong and I am right. Maidona sucks. he can't punch, he can't fight. 2 MORE fights and my opinion will be the majority view.

Madaina wins by KO. Besides this probability, the fact one is promoted by TR and the other GBP means this truly is a mythical matchup.

Oh please. This is almost a stylistic mismatch. Maidana would have NO CHANCE. He can't overpower Rios, nor can he outbox him.

    He's fucked up, basically.

Brandon Rios is really going to be shit when he isn't bigger than his opponents.

Yes. ENJOY Rios while you can. His career will be short. I can see one day some nothing fighter hitting him with a nothing jab and him getting stopped dead. He takes more punishment than anyone in recent history. The guy is a punching bag. I saw one fight where he was getting just battered and he just broke the guy's will. If that guy had een bigger, Rios would be pushing up daisies.

That was against Acosta. Rios was getting lit up, but you have to admit it was impressive the way he just kept on coming, didn't slow down at all, and broke Acosta down. It was that fight that made me realise Rios is legit. But yeah, he gets hit a hell of a lot.

He doesn't have to over-power him. He just nreds to punch him real hard, which with Rios's crap defense wouldn't be difficult.

Let's remember - Rios has done exactly nothing at 140.
