I remember reading somewhere that Bute and his team wanted to fight in the Super 6 but they wanted three Americans.
The atmosphere at this will be pretty foetid and febrile. I can see the Stoke mob making the trip up and getting lairy at the weigh in, trying to bash Heathcliff Bute.
I hope Bute gets all swarthy and swarmy and smarmy and Romanian with Mrs Froch and says "I wish I could be as stiff in your ring as he is in the boxing ring" and then a lairy great brawl breaks out and Heathcliff gets bashed by people wearing Wolves shirts.
I read elsewhere in boxing news and boxing monthly that he was asked and he refused. Froch told him to 'grow some balls'. MTF
Right. But that's not what the Showtime brass were saying. http://www.maxboxing.com/news/max-boxing-news/bute-makes-it-super-six--one
Hard to say. I just know I've heard this version of events on a few occasions. I bet Jake could clear it up.
While we wait for Jake and his unlimited insider knowledge to deal with this connundrum, tell me SD- should Bute be ranked no.1 at 168 right now? MTF
There is no argument for Bute being anything other than number 4. He has fought and beaten no one. You can't rank potential.
I think he sucks. He may be better than I think because he has fought no one. He will never, ever beat Ward. I still can't get the fact he was literally knocked out by ANDRADE needing corruption to save him. He could retire today and I count that as a kayo loss. People say he has improved but that is hard for me to grasp as he struggled over a 50 year old Glen Johnson who had only one hand.
Well he blitzed Andrade in the rematch. I don't really care much for him either... this is a tough fight to call because as you said, we don't really know how good he is.
