I can't believe that there is a good possibility that there are no English teams left in the quarterfinals of either Euro cups.

Even though I don't like most of the teams that play in the CL, they're kind fo the reason I watch the tournament.

You don't watch Barcelona or Real Madrid? They're the best two teams in the world right now. With Barcelona, maybe the best ever. I say that as someone who despises Barcelona too, they're incredible to watch.

I don't have time to explain this right now but I will later.

If Barca and Real Madrid are playing in the CL, I'd watch it.

Same two team playing in la Liga or for the Spanish cup. I won't watch it.

    Sounds strange. I'll explain later.

Good post and I agree with most of it, except that Maradona dragged a truly awful, awful Argentina side to the final of Italia 90 pretty much single handedly. The Argentina side of 86 was fairly average really and won the WC because of Maradona. It is arguable (at least) that the present Argentina side has better players than either of those teams.

Messi is an awesome player: the first in a long while to deserve a place in that very highest echelon of ATG players. I do think it helps, though, that he has two of the very best midfielders of all time playing behind him at Barca. Xavi and Iniesta are unbelievably good footballers.

Where do you reckon the current Barca side rank all time? I'd imagine they have to be right up there (even if we grade on an era adjusted scale for our esteemed Mr.Ugo).

I refuse to watch Real Madrid. Mourinho is a bitter little cunt that has everyone fooled. He's a talented manager but he's no genius. He lurches from beneficial situation to beneficial situation, and when the money dries up, he fucks off again. Benitez ran him out of England. He's a thug, his assault on that Barca staff member was sick. He's a talented more imaginative slightly brighter version of Sam Allardyce- he's a bivalve.

As for the team itself.......£80m here, £50m there, disgusting. And they STILL won't win the European Cup.

The way the press , especially the British and Irish press, lap up this shit is disgusting.

At it's best this is the best celtic team to watch of my life time. Handsome Charlie Mulgrew is morphing into a Timmy Franz Beckenbauer this year

I adore Joe Ledley's face. It looks like it's taken from a white photo of the French trenches. I can't decide who's face I prefer, his or Handsome Charlie's.

And it's still pretty much the same Swansea team we battered 4-0 last season. Frustrating.

Manchester United are an average team that have everyone scared. thats why City, Basel, Liverpool, Chelsea, Bilbao....have all made them look average. United are the classic example of why England won't win anything- nobody wants to carry the unborn children of the England manager. England are an average team that people treat like an average team. United are an average team that one-half are scared of and the other half want to be friends with.

So does this mean Perfidious Albion can still win it? Does it go down to goal difference or is it decided by the result between the two teams?

No. England can win the Championship if Ireland beat England, in England, and France beat Wales, in Wales, and the scores tally accordingly in England's favour. Goal Difference, so to speak. In otherwords, it ain't happening, England might get past Ireland, but France won't beat Wales, in Wales. The Welsh are good for fuck all except the 6 Nations. I mean Hitler didn't even bother planning an invasion of Wales. He had invasion plans for....Upper Bogota Land, but not Wales.

4 dogshit teams if ever there were one. England were bad today and France were utterly le shite

And Celtic will lose away in Europe regardless of whether they're better than their opponents or not.
