    Yes perhaps.

I keep hearing this shit from the moronic commentators......."United have been asleep in Europe this season....their European form has been poor"...yeah nice try lads. Lets put a different spin on it shall we......

United have been as awake in Europe as they have been in England- its just that Sam "Bivalve" Allardyce, Harry "Happy with Third" Redknapp and Roy "Gentleman Owl" Hodgson don't manage European sides. Nobody in Europe gives a fuck about Fergie or what he's won in England. They don't fear him like they do Barcelona and its why United have been battered by any side that had the courage to play football against United.

United were 2-0 up at home vs Basel, and within minutes were 3-2 down.

Fergie tried that "he's a good manager" routine with Bilbao's manager and they kicked the shit out of them. An English manager would have rolled over and presented "Sir" Alex with a freshly lubed starfish.

Ireland could annihilate this English side. France will not beat Wales.

Really looking forward to the semi final, now. Whether its Hearts, Hibs or Aberdeen it'll be a proper tie, as will the final.

Rarely, I don't much care for beer. Guiness and other dark ales are my favourites when I drink beer though

I absolutely agree. This is a truly TERRIBLE Man Utd side: the worst easily in the last twenty years. And yet they are top of the PL. Preposterous.

They are the best club side I've seen in my lifetime, certainly. Maybe Ajax of the 1970's and Real in the early European Cup era are comparable, but not many others IMO.

Agreed. One truly elite player, that's it. And he's a fucking moron.

With regards to Barcelona, as much as I hate that fucking club, I may have to reluctantly agree that they're the best side of all time. That tiki taka pushing bullshit is pretty much impossible to play against, you have to rely more on them losing concentration and making a mistake than anything you can do yourself. I think pace is the one thing which can take them down, but it's still reliant on a misplaced pass or an error.

Of all the teams in my life time, club sides, only the Liverpool side of 87/88 would go toe-to-toe with them, that was a side which COULD have picked up European Titles. But Barcelona have been at this since 2006. They won it in 2006, got to the semi-finals in 2008, won it in 2009, got to the semi-finals in 2010, won it in 2011, look to be going on to the final again in 2012.

Not only do they destroy teams, they destroy teams who are themselves reputed as bullies, like the aforementioned United team, whom they destroyed on two separate occasions, with ease.

Spain's International side, probably because it contains most of the head-honcho's at Barcelona, is probably as good as it gets. They probably are one of the greatest international sides of all time.

Ferguson thought he could beat it with pressure and aggression. Its the old British disease. If it was a Military contest, United would be running around in suits of armour and Barcelona would be opening them up like tin cans with their light sabres and their lazer-beams. Thats how big the contrast is.

Its most telling that two of the few players naturally equipped to deal with Barcelona, namely Javier Mascherano and Cesc Fabregas, now play for Barcelona.

Celtic need to reach an arrangement with a major PL side vis a vis taking loan of young players and getting them training and exposure. In exchange, Celtic could take advantage of young talents on the cheap.

Say Liverpool....could loan out JonJo Shelvey, Raheem Sterling, Conor Coady that sort of player, Celtic might win the title every year and be in the Champions League every year.

Yep that just doesn't work, you'll get picked apart. The way to do it, funnily enough, is with players who can break at crazy speeds like Walcott and Lennon. I've always said this, Messi and (I think it was) Pique have said that Walcott is the player they've feared the most in recent years.

Keep it tight, organised, try and push them out wide in your final third when they have possession. When you get the ball, don't panic, try and play with them, pass it around. You see too many teams panic when they have possession against Barca, and just go rushing towards goal, and lose the ball. They like to push up high as well, so there's always space to run into behind them...if you can get there. You need a good midfielder who can pick the right pass at the right time, and somebody with pace who can get onto it. MUCH easier said than done obviously, but that is the best course of action.

I think it's a bit of an insult to think the Liverpool youth squad would saunter into our first team. Set up the deal with Motherwell or Bristol Rovers.

I'd say Barca are the best team ever, purely for the speed at which their game is played. It'd blow any previous team out of the water.

When is Li'l Raheem getting a game?

Surprised he hasn't been sent on loan. Would benefit him to get some game time in the lower leagues.

United not only go top but they've got much easier fixtures coming up than Man City.

After reading this from the 2009 FA Cup Final report, I feel getting a ticket will be next to impossible:

    >>Everton and Chelsea were each allocated 25,109 tickets for the final. Having sold over 32,000 for their semi-final win over Manchester United, Everton were unhappy and disappointed with this allocation. The match was Everton's first FA Cup final in 14 years and Everton chief executive Robert Elstone predicted that the club could have sold in excess of 70,000 tickets for this game. Chelsea also said that the size of their allocation meant that it was unlikely that there would be sufficient tickets for all of their hospitality and non-hospitality season ticket holders.<<

Nevertheless, I just ordered a ticket to see New Order in Brixton on May 3rd so I'll be in London for the cup regardless. May have to just watch it in a pub. If we aren't in it, we'll play at Wolves the next day which is on the way to Liverpool. It will all work itself out somehow.
