Why can't Martinez find a decent opponent?
Why is Jr. such a fucking coward?
    Is Macklin any good?
What do people think of the undercard? Edwin Rodriguez versus Don George?

most observers thought macklin was robbed vs. sturm. macklin dominated early but kinda faded towards the end. he is a serious contender and would probably beat up chavez jr.

Macklin is an average white Irish scrub with a big heart and a decent body attack. I give him a good chance here, because Lance Martinez isn't as good as people think he is.

I'm suprised Steve Kim hasn't written an article about it yet.

Off topic, but Steve Kim is always tweeting about how under appreciated the Klitschko's are.

I don't consider Chavez a worthy opponent. I'd just like to see him lose rather than reign undeservedly. For that reason, I wish he'd face Martinez.

I'm glad to hear Macklin is worthy.

Macklin is worthy and thats about it. He MIGHT have beaten Sturm in Germany, I feel he lost, but......in the event, he went 12 and did a lot of good work, enough to get him a shot at Martinez that Sturm doesn't want at all. So why not. I reckon Martinez will labour with this guy if he doesn't land something big and early.

steve kim, imo is the best writer/coverage provider in the biz and one of the few guys who seemingly has any substance in what they write.

If it's the Martinez who showed up against BAKERRRRRRR then Macklin has a good shot

Baker- his Bark was worse than his loaves of bread or some shit.

Let me ask you something, how can HBO A} televise this fight in the first place. and B} Televise it as being for the "Real MW Championship" when it is THEY who have been most complicit in the elevation of JC Chavez JR to the fine position he enjoys today as a HBO fighter?? :dunno:

He isn't, but I thought Pavilkkk would beat him hands down so he is better than I thought. I am currently bedridden and have been watching old fights. I found Martinez/Margarito on youtube. Margarito beat the shit out of him. i KNOW IT WAS A LONG TIME AGO, BUT the guy is overrated. He is only the king because there is no one decent in the division. He is a felix TRINIDAD level fighter.

He is a Southpaw, and has hand-speed, this means he owns real-estate in the buccal cavity of Max Kellerman. Apart from that, he's an average fighter with a few wrinkles who has reinvented himself at a higher weight. I give him credit for that but not much more. He looked distinctly average vs Darren Barker.

It was just an example. Be honest, you just wanted to brag you were at that shit fight. Also, he is not that different. He runs and he punches. He is better than I thought, but i AGREE WITH Irish He is very overrated, especially from the Williams fight.

hardly a fight worth bragging about, i remember it being shitty. martinez is much better than when he fought margarito. both guys looked shitty in that fight. martinez was inexperienced and negative, and margarito couldnt take him out despite hitting him with everything. martinez started boxing late, didnt have a real trainer, didnt know how to cut weight. he learned on the fly and become an excellent pro. the guy started boxing late and was barely a pro for 2 years when he fought margarito. why even bring it up

He hasn't improved that much.He is still the same guy who runs. HE JUST STOPS AND PUTS SOME POP on a punch here and there. The revelations about Pavlik's substance abuse problem help me understand how he lost to Martinez. The fact that Martinez is elite just shows how thin and shitty boxing is. He is a very average fighter.

The Martinez of today would beat the crap out of any version of Plasterito.

On cuts. If he had two eyes, Margarito would beat him down again. He doesn't though so you win.

martinez would have whipped margarito if they fought anytime the past decade. margaritos camp wanted no part of a rematch whenever it was talked about the past 7 or 8 years. margarito never had any problems with cuts until the past few years, either.

Not what I heard. I heard that Argentine Sphincter lover said it would be ungentlemanly to fight him because he has declined too much. Pre Pacquiao Margarito, the one the fought Shame Nutrasweet Nosely, Martinez gets stopped again.

Fuck Martinez. I'm tired of this fake James Bond wannabe. Darren Barker is a domestic/euro level fighter, and if he had a bit more seasoning, he would have extended that guy the full distance.

Macklin is a dour, unappealing sort of guy whose idea of adapting in a fight is to redouble his efforts.

I would love it if he exposed this fucking fraud.
