http://twitter.com/#!/osunaespn @GripzMusik Gamboa wants to change the terms of the fight. Agreed on $1.1m purse and now he's not happy about that. $400k biggest payday...

Bernado Osuna say's it is $1.1m.

Todd DuBoef say's that Gamboa has signed a letter of intent for the bout. If Gamboa doesn't fight Rios on 14/4 he will be sued out of his ass for damages.

He'll only be sued if he stays in America. What about relocating to Canada, Germany- good money to be had there. Maybe thats the threat.

Not sure about holding him to a letter-of-intent either.

I find this intriguing, but I do wish they would just shut up and fight.

REED's Entire Outlook on this Fight has Shifted 180 Degrees...

It SEEMED that Gamboa was Throwing Down the Gauntlet, Boldly, DEFIANTLY Declaring Himself 1 of Boxing's Elite AND a True Lb for Lb'der, by Calling Out the Much Bigger Brandon Rios (& Perhaps this is STILL Gamboa's Mentality)...

But Threatening to Pull Out Over Money has TAINTED this Matchup Somewhat...Now, REED Isn't Sure if Gamboa is Here to WIN or Simply to Get Paid...If the Going Gets Tooooooo TOUGH, will he Simply Take a Knee or have the Corner Save him btwn Rounds???...

Before, this was a "Can't Lose" Proposition for Gamboa...Now, it's Almost a "Can't Win" Scenario...He'll have to Win SPECTACULARLY to Make the STENCH of his Behavior Dissipate...

    Hopefully he Does...

Agreed, clamouring for the fight in the first place was a very ballsy move, but his behaviour now is a far cry from "ballsy".

I'm more confident in my Rios pick now, if the fight even happens.

The ironic thing is I didn't want this fight to happen, as a Gamboa fan, I thought it was stupid. Now though, it wouldn't be such a bad thing to see Gamboa get beaten, even if it is at the hands of that mongoloid Rios.

GAMBOA is just being rational. He is hedging his bets just in case he loses.

Gamboa saw the press this fight was getting and decided to renegotiate. I dont blame him. His promoter should be able to accommodate the small increase

What made you go off Gamboa? I remember you were a Gamboa fan for a while, with him in your sig etc.

BTW does anyone know how much Rios is getting for this fight?

Gamboa is getting 1.2 million and Rios is getting 750,000.

I'm wondering if this is a Tim Bradley-like situation. I know Bradley is still in litigation with Shaw and Thompson, but it appears he was wise enough to not have signed anything for a match with Khan.

Thus, Shaw and co. were negotiating the fight Bradley had no intention of fighting for them. Gamboa might have been promised $1.2 million but I'm sure his issue is how much of that he gets.

I remember when Manny left Murad Muhammad then went to Gary Shaw for the second Morales fight he signed for $1.2 million. Gary Shaw wound up making more than Manny ($350,000) after Manny paid everyone.

I think Gamboa will end up agreeing to all terms soon.

He's got no cards to play and he could be sued for some big money if he doesn't fight.

The PROBLEM w/Gamboa's Angle is that he Could've Taken this Stance MONTHS AGO...Instead, he Does it Right When Anticipation is PEAKING???...

It WASN'T That Loooooooooong Ago that Dude Defected from Cuba, & he's ALREADY Close to 30 Years of Age, so he SHOULDN'T Look @ a MILLONfuckingDOLLAR Purse as Chump Change...Anytime U're Getting "The HIGHEST Payday of your Career", You Should JUMP on It...

If This Fight FAILS to Transpire, REED Would Hope & Pray that Gamboa Be BLACKBALLED for the Remainder of his Career...

I couldn't agree more. If this IS his stance, don't fucking agree to fight in the first place, you agree the terms you're happy with BEFORE the fight is signed, not after it's already been agreed to, has a date, and is being marketed :notallthere:

And yeah, it's a career highest payday and the chance to become more of a household name, seeing as Gamboa's popularity isnt exactly upto par with his talent level. He should be raring to go.

Funny thing is, wasn't it team Gamboa that was gunning for this fight in the first place? It's not like he's being forced into the fight

This fight was too good to be true. Boxing never does that anymore. If we ever get a fight we want it usually to late. Don't despair, comrades

Jesus christ, unbelievable. I still had a glimmer of hope that issues could be worked out and they'd give Gamboa a bit more money etc.

What a total little chode, I hope to see him beaten senseless soon.
