The Hatton who beat Castillo vs the Cotto who beat Torres.

I think Hatton outhustles him to a close decision.

Hard to say. Cotto was the better puncher and more stylish, but Hatton was tougher and is probably more willing to go that extra mile in a tough fight.

Have to think about this one.

I'd favor Cotto. He is just better and has a better chin than the cHINA CHINNED Fatton.

Hatton stops him, Cotto was too fragile at 140.

I'm not sure Cotto was a better boxer. He looked better but he lost allot of rounds at 140 and had some real scrapes. I fancy Hatton would be too strong at the weight.

There's really nothing clear about it either way. Cotto didn't fight anyone close to Hatton's level at 140.

    I'd favour Cotto.

I have a fairly high opinion of both fighters, and it would be a good fight, but I think Cotto is the better fighter.

Good styles match up. Hatton doesn't like good counterpunchers, and Cotto doesn't like pressure.

The thing is, Hatton is not big and strong enough to make Cotto wilt IMO, especially given that Cotto would be landing hard counters regularly.

Hatton never fought anyone on Cotto's level at 140. Kostya was passed his prime and was a victim of holdgate all night.

IMO when cotto was at 140, he was the true champ.

He wasn't the true champ though. Tszyu was then Hatton.

Tszyu was obviously much better than anyone Cotto beat at 140 - making Hatton more proven at the weight.

I can see Cotto winning for sure but it's not some mismatch.

As much as I despise Tszyu, yes he was better than anyone Cotto beat at 140.

Excuses schmuses too, Hatton roughed him up, pressured the shit out of him and made him quit. Convincing win.

Kostya was done after that fight. And he was being fouled all night. It was a disgusting fight. Lets not forget Hatton gets KOed in 2 by Pac at 140. in 2.

It happens. Hatton's cojones were much bigger than Cotto's so when he got hurt against Pacquiao he didn't go into survival mode like Miguel.

I do agree that Hatton got away with too much against Tszyu, but when it's all said and done it was still a quality win.

Cotto by KO...Hatton throws a lot of punches but he is not heavy handed or a one punch Ko fighter....

I take Cotto's 2-3 straight and accurate counters to break down Hatton 4-5 looping and wild punches...

What you call Cojones i call stupid wild slugging with no tecqnique against a strong accurate counterpuncher. Cotto, another strong counter puncher, would have a field say with Hatton.

I can't see Cotto having a field day with anyone good, he never has had one

Both of this guys would get shitkicked by about 10 different 140 pounders all-time

Losing is losing. Cotto lost too, he just stopped trying and started surviving.

I never saw him as going into survival mode against pac. He was still fighting. and i disagree. Losing in two rounds to pac and your suppose be the 140 king and this guy is moving up in weight is worse. Did Hatton even land a punch?

The result was worse, no doubt. Still doesn't tell me anything about a Hatton/Cotto fight years earlier.

45-0 outside those two fights and you could probably count the number of championship rounds he lost at 140 on two hands :dunno: pretty well, man

Based on what though? Cotto's division best win over Pauli Mallinagi? (Which Hatton reproduced much way dominantly)
