Hard to say. Laing was a very very good fighter to, just nowhere near as dedicated as Honeyghan. Laing could have beaten Honeyghan if his mind was on it.

 

Beating Duran can never be considered an upset. At that point that holding homo had already lost to an aids infested third world Christian Murder and quit against arguably the only fighter gayer than he, Sugar Gay Leotard. The only thing amazing about Duran is that homo didn't get aids.

I like Duran as the best 135lb fighter in history, I fail to see why it is so contentious.

Shane Mosley would have been competitive, so would Oscar- mostly what harms their chances is they were too busy participating in the business of stepping-stone title collection from division to division than staying at one weight and getting the experience.

A tall, fast, experienced Oscar at 135 would be a very stern test for Duran.


But its a short list, no matter what way one slices it.

 

Hard to say because Duran beat no one much like Shame beat no one at the weight.

I think Chavez beats him.
I think Whitaker schools him. He won't get a chance to beat him.
Arguello would beat him.
Pac I would pick to beat him.
Oscar may have beaten him. It would be ugly. DURAN, the faggot, would be grabbing him every two seconds.
Hell, even Shame might have beaten him at lightweight.
PRYOR would have beaten his faggot ass something fierce at 140.

 

Whitaker is the only lightweight I'd give a chance, I'd put that fight at either even odds or with Pea as a favorite.

Armstrong is too small and too primitive for Duran. Duran's defense and counterpunching would be poison for Ike Williams.

Chavez? Come on, the guy barely beat Rocky Lockridge at 130. Duran is bigger, stronger, and just better than Chavez. He'd beat Chavez up and probably win a ref stoppage late in the fight.

De La Hoya & Splenda Shane.. aside from the fact both of them are fake ass lightweights and neither of them would have been ever been able to make 135 for a same day weigh in, they are just flatly inferior fighters. Shane Mosley over Duran, really? What the fuck does Shane Mosley have that Sugar Ray Leonard doesn't?

There's no way in hell Duran loses to a one handed fighter, 6 round fighter in DLH or a one-dimensional fighter in Shane. Duran would fuck both of them up.

You call every fighter overrated, then you pick one of the most overrated fighters ever in Pryor to beat DURAN? Pryor's style would play right into Duran's hands.

Ken Buchanan and Esteban DeJesus were both better lightweights than anyone Shane or DLH beat at that weight btw. And Chicanito doesn't even count, he was a 130 lber who moved up for a payday against a guy killing himself to make 135. The first (and only) guy whose win against Chicanito counted in my mind is Floyd.
