good season. i am tempted to read ahead in the books.

 

Start reading the first book if you haven't already. There are a lot of nuances left out in TV, plus a lot of family/house information that helps.

I thought the finale was kinda weak, probably shouldve saved Ned Starks beheading for it. Now weak ass Rob is King of the North? I wish Lord Snow left the wall so he could fuck some Lannisters up.

 

Yeah, maybe should have ended the season with the second to last episode, and picked the next season up with the dragon girl reveal.

i disagree the finale was excellent. they don't have to end it with the most severe thing to happen in the season, in fact I am incredibly happy i didnt see Stark beheaded then have to wait until next spring to see what happens next. also to wait to see what was going to happen with Drogo... no way. this was excellent. Denarius and the dwarf are probably my two favourite characters so far

 

I agree, the second to the last episode was probably the most jarring episode but the finale contained the most impactful moment to the story. Drogo was a vehicle to get to the point danerys is at now.

The main point of the last episode is the fact that the 7 kingdoms is shattered and so is the stark family. If you have preconcieved notions of who is good or bad, or who the story is about, you might end up being wrong about your assumptions.

 

BTW, the one scene that sticks with me in the series that I've seen nobody mention is the one between Tywin Lannister and Jaime Lannister.

In the space of a single scene of dialogue, we also see Tywin skin and dress an entire deer/boar or whatever the fuck that was, without hardly a mention of what he was even doing..

I thought that was fucking brilliant.

It was a stag. Kind of representative to what his family was doing to House Baratheon who have a stag as their sigil. Tywin is truly a bad ass. He humbles all his children who are bad asses in their own right. Jaime kinda let him down because he joined the Kings guard, Tyrion because he was a dwarf and his birth killed his mother, and Cersei because she was a chick. Dude is like the great santini in westeros.

 

havent read the books and dont have HBO, wanna read them but so many other i need to get to first, and speaking of fantasy type shit, the last wheel of time book comes out this year

 

You should have stopped reading that shit when you were done with the 6th book. Drop it and pick up A Game of Thrones.

Then when you are done with that pick up the first book in the Malazan Book of the Fallen series.

 

last couple books have been great and the last book comes out this year, read some other stuff by brandon sanderson and its really good

def wanna pick up the game of thrones as well as some raymond feist stuff, next fantasy book im gonna be reading is sandersons the way of kings

 

I've read some Feist stuff but I can't remember what. It's been such a long time ago that I probably should read it again.

Anyone watched season one? Season 2 coming in April. I am completely hooked on this series. All the characters of the Seven Kingdoms are interesting, but that blonde girl from the Taenery's house, not only is smoking hot, but her story is IMO the most interesting one since in season one we witness her metamorphosis from shy virgin princess to strong revenge seeking dragon queen. Can't wait to watch what happens to her next!

This is where we agree Panch. I too love her story the best and was likewise intrigued with her slow transformation throughout the entire series. Looking forward to season two, too.

 

I like The Imp, that actor is awesome.
