A: I'm not a big hockey fan. But I respect how talented you have to be to play hockey. Soccer? That's a whole other ball. Can't stand soccer. It's the least-talented sport on Earth. There's a reason three-year-olds can play soccer. When you're playing a game when the net is that big and the score is 3-1 (and that's a blowout) are you kidding me? You know how untalented you have to be to score three times when the net is that big? Now back to hockey. You have guys on skates with crooked sticks and you have to hit a puck into a net that's the same size as the goalie. And at any time someone could take your head right off your shoulders and it's perfectly legal. That's a real sport that takes real talent, speed and all the things you need to be a real athlete. Now fighting is a part of hockey and has been since Day 1. It's part of the game. It is what it is. I think we live in a world now where everything has been so pussy-fied. When I grew up we didn't wear helmets when we rode our bikes. We didn't have car seats. We didn't have all this stuff. Now things are safer and we should be safer but let's not go overboard. Fighting's a part of hockey. Period.

There is a reason why 3 year olds can play soccer? First of all, they can't. Most kids start at five. But thats besides the point. 5 year old kids also play baseball, football, and wrestling. Totally ignorant.

If he believes all this to be true and so do all of you other people I would love to see him and any of you guys even to play against High School kids and see how hard it is... There is ALOT of talent in soccer...its an idiotic statement.

 

Soccer is boring. I only watch the world cup because of the hype.

 

I don't love watching soccer either for the most part, but it's no different from any other sport in terms of what it takes to get to the top. Sorry, it's different from cage fighting where you can fight a couple times and become a star

The point is that people disagee all the time about soccer and it doesn't make either side 'white trash' or cause any reflection on the fans of MMA.

 

While I don't like Soccer I would love to see Dana's fat ass last half of a soccer game and not die of exhaustion. Soccer takes a hell of a lot of endurance, you are running constantly. Not only that but to control the ball as good as a pro soccer player is not easy, those guys have skill no doubt.

 

The talent level of soccer players in the United States is not that high compared to other sports like football and basketball. It is very similar to mma and boxing, they generally don't draw from a huge talent base merely because the truly atheltic talent is playing sports like football and basketball. In Canada, those true athletic talents go to hockey. In Europe, they go to soccer. Its all relative, if anyone here thinks Landon Donovan is a more talented athlete than say Ray Lewis, you are either stupid or blind. Landon Donovan is pretty much one the best American soccer players to ever live, and the simple fact is, he doesn't make most European countries World Cup team.

Anthony is right, whether you agree with Dana or not, his comments don't hurt MMA, nor are white trash. Its just an opinion.

Soccer players are some of the most athletic people in the world. Did you ever try to play a competitive regulation soccer match? From the sounds of It I guarantee you havent.

Donovan and Ray Lewis?? Are you kidding me?? 2 totally different skillsets! Do you seriously think Ray has the agility or endurance to to what Landon does? No. Just like Landin doesnt have the strength or size to do what Ray does.

 

I think his point is that Ray Lewis is better at what Ray Lewis does than Landon Donovan (whoever the fuck that is) is at what Landon Donovan does. EG, Floyd Mayweather Jr is a better boxer than Jamarcus Russell is a QB.

 

You are ignorant if you think Landon Donovan is a world class athlete. He is a skinny 5'9" human being. The fact that he can't play in the club leagues in Europe tells you how "great" he is. Ray Lewis is soooo athletically gifted its unreal. He could have been a world class athlete in any sport he went for, he chose football because he gets paid the most. Ray Lewis is roughly the same size and has the same skillset as most defensemen in Europe.

The fact you can't have a conversation without attacking someone shows the level of education you possess or how "white trash" you are. I never attacked you, I stated an opinion different than yours. You can't seem to debate without getting butthurt if someone disagrees with you. For your information, I played college football for a divsion III program, position Safety. No I have never played soccer, I give it the eye test, and the talent in the US is not world class. Europe yes, thats why they are paid as such and in the US they aren't.
