Celtic are losing, but it is fun observing the sheer frothing, bubbling and chomping sectarianism of "Establishment" TV. Its like a rabid dog draped in a blue cloth having an ever-increasing amperage fed into him via his arsehole, just twisting and frothing and gurgling endless profanities and bile. After a while it becomes hard to distinguish voluntary spasms from involuntary spasms, like a knot of maggots, its hard to tell one from the next.
The Rangers get a free kick for a foul after Samaras was himself fouled!! This is Epic Queens Own Stuff.
:: they didn't lose, they were robbed, and I did see it coming. The first sending off was an absolute joke. Straight red for a foul outside the box where ALL the Rangers player could have done was get a shot off at the very very best. Guy wasn't through on goal at all. Celtic fans know the score. The Queen will let you eat cake, just not on her lawn.
Fuck me we were good first half today. Ba, Cisse and Ben Arfa = quality. I love Hatem Ben Arfa. That boy is a tremendously exciting footballer. MTF
The amount of Chelsea skinheads & Hamburg weirdos floating about today was terrifying. God keep handsome Glasgow tonight.
We keep losing every crunch game. Reminds me of the Tommy Burns era. Still my two favourite Celtic managers ever.
Agreed. I love watching the guy play, I only managed to catch the first half but players like him are a dying breed these days. Well played today.
Ben Arthur played well today. That Cisse was a good buy. At least one Cisse knows how to keep his cool and do his job issed:
As long as he wants, ostensibly. :: 2 years, IIRC. He's won a trophy, and is in the semi-final of the FA Cup, and arguably the clubs most important player, Lucas, has been missing for ages. Nothing is going to happen to Dalglish. He's not a patch on Benitez, so far, and while he is not beyond reproach, he's more than done what he was brought in to do, namely undo the damage being caused by Hodgson, which had all-time low attendances at the games. He's still probably, at worst, the 3rd or 4th most capable guy in the English game. It must be remembered that he launched an improbable drive for Europe between January and May of 2011, and has the club back in Europe for next season already. That said, and you will never hear it mentioned in the English press, Benitez should never have been fired and remains the best manager the club has had from the end of the first Dalglish reign to the currency of the present one.
I wonder if we go down will Hughes still want to stay. I have a horrible feeling that if we did go down, the likes of Taarabt, faurlin and Kenny might leave
I was in a cab the other day, I never listen to the radio ever so I couldn't tell you the presenters but the driver had TalkSport on. One of the presenters was saying shit like "Dalglish has been a failure, should Liverpool bring back Rafa?" (he's just won a trophy for fucks sake), "The negative reaction to Peter Crouch's goal at the weekend, dismissing it as a fluke, is precisely the reason England will always be failures on the international stage" (like he does that shit every week ::). It was rather comical.
This is it. For me, the League is the king, its the single greatest testament to that years quality of decision making and planning. Unless you are Man United or Rangers, and you know you can get away with being shit anyways. But Silverware seems to dominate. This annoying nagging bullshit has crept into the game about how "it is too many years since X won something" etc.
And I was the first to compliment your lot on it. Blowing a 2-0 lead and losing 3-2 is never ever acceptable.
I am convinced those morons don't actually mean it. If a caller rang in and said that the moon was made of cheese, one of the two berks in the studio would agree, and the other one would disagree, simply for the sake of keeping the fire going. Its done to elicit responses from kids who listen in and get them to pay $5 per minute for the pleasure of "discussing" the matter with a guy who has cholesterol levels that would kill a small elephant or "debate" the issue with some guy who used to swab the jacks at Chelsea "Proper Big Club" FC Crouch has hit some absolute gems in his time- notably the scissor kicks vs Bolton and Galatasary.
8 points in 11 games is pretty worrying, though. Do you think Kenny'd be best as 'head coach' in partnership with a general manager who took care of player recruitment for him?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17506865 Look at the state of that prick. If you licked his face you would wake up with puffy nipples and a heightened sense of empathy.
It is quasi-religious, what these guys go through, put themselves through. In any other civilized society, McCoist would be quickly identified as a Rasputin-esque figure and thrown into the nearest freezing body of water. In Britain, however, much like Ferguson, he keeps us safe from "those others"- namely dangerous concoctions involving the colour green, Catholicism, Holy Wafer, people with red hair, foreign accents, etc. People with "dangerous ideas" like....rotation, or 4-2-3-1......dangerous. Sky love a bit of him. Its as if yesterday he turned back a Jacobite Cavalry Charge against seemingly unsurmountable odds. Pathetic.
2 different views of our game v Swansea: http://theexecutionersbong.wordpress.com/ and http://www.schoolofscience.eu/ Both equally awesome.
Dalglish always struck me as being like a fine porcelain- intricate, magnificent, highly detailed, capable of withstanding high temperatures yet still strangely fragile, strangely brittle. Like all highly-bred strains, he has an Achilles heel. The mighty tuber resists Winters and frosts, but is laid low by a perfidious invasive bacterium. That's Dalglish. He has his weak spots. There is nothing per se wrong with the player recruitment. The biggest knocks against Downing or Carroll isn't that they aren't good players, its that there were better/cheaper options. But Liverpool have the players to beat Wigan at home. Johnson, Agger, Bellamy and Lucas- all signings of the Ancien Regime, are out injured. Between you and me, I will take the mining, plotting, wiring and the sieging of Sapper Lucas over the vain-glorious charges of Lancer Gerrard, any day of the week. I detest "Impact" players. The subtle meddling of a Scholes or a Lucas or a Benayoun is more my scene. I can't over-state the importance of Lucas. His break-up and re-distribution is massive. Henderson is too green, Adam is too limited, it took Lucas two years to learn his role. Suarez was out for the 8, 9 games, then Spearing was told to go and learn on the job at the deep end. The signing of Adam is a doffing of the cap to the old mentality. Useful player, like Park at United, but thats all he is. I am not condoning some of the shit- 2 points clear of clubs as rudimentary in their finances as they are in their stated ambitions as Everton or Sunderland is not acceptable. Some of the problem, a la QPR, Wigan games, is as unexplainable as it is unacceptable. But in order to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, as was managed in the Arsenal and QPR games, you first have to have hewn some sort of chance for victory. Dalglish has it down, but its not clicking. That said, right or wrong, a Trophy {or "Troffy", per Benitez} will buy you a lot of time in this business.
You should either write a blog or start submitting the odd article to an online Liverpool fanzine, irish.
