Listen, you faggot Wil Wheaton look alike, it's not about HOW MANY SECONDS Can't you fucking read? It's about CONTINUING THE FUCKING COUNT. You don't ADMINISTER A COUNT in a fight that is OVER The bold part merely PROVES MY POINT, you goddamn imbecile. THE REFEREE FUCKED UP
Just watched it. Gotta go with Ike on this one. Molina should kick that cornerman in the balls. I hated the call and I wouldn't have complained if the ref fudged the rules a bit and let the fight go on, but it is, what it is. Looked like the ref wanted to finish the 8 count and make damn sure of the call before he did it. Nobody, not even a referee wants the fight to end that way. Watch when the ref pushes the cornerman out of the ring, the same time the official is pulling him out. Ref said out loud "Jesus Christ"...........like he knew what he had to do, but wanted to be sure about doing it. He knew the bell rang, he knew the fighters wouldn't be engaging again. I have no problem with taking a little time before making a call like that.
molina fought like a bitch. kirkland is limited but he's still much more fun to watch. the DQ result was satisfying.
So it would be OK at :30 (remaining) of the round if it happened at 2:30 of the round? The referee is in charge of what's going on in the ring, only the referee can stop the fight. Administering a count is no different than calling "TIME" and then calling a DQ a few seconds later. It's stupid/bullshit. If you're going to call a DQ, call the fucking DQ then and there, once the action has progressed beyond that point you can't go back and revisit the incident and call a DQ. That is just stupid. Also, fuck a 9 year what? Are you incoherent due to rage, pills, or both?
Sorry, I misread it. This is what he wrote...Yeah, Kirkland did balloon up to more than 195 pounds. In fact, Cameron Dunkin, like he did with Brandon Rios in December, made a call to Victor Conte to consult on this drastic weight gain But he elaborated in his story that Kirkland weighed 198 a month ago, not in the ring.
What a fuckign garbage call that was. Kirkland is exactly as scrubby as I thought he was. Molina got robbed. How come Floyd Mayweather doesn't have a DQ loss on his record to Judah?
Finally someone who can think. It was an unsatisfactory ending, but the ref did nothing wrong by the rules.
I don't think the dq was mandatory, but only discretionary, but I can't find the rule. I think those trying to say that the ref waived his right to dq the fighter because he finished the knockdown count are retards. (unless they can find some authority for that position in the rules--good luck with that) It does appear that the ref should not have continued to count. We had this discussion back with Bute vs Andrade 1 and the rule appears to be that if the 3 minutes is up, the bell should ring immediately when the fighter is on his feet, and the round is over. That would mean the cornerman could enter the ring. The ref could still do his evaluation to determine if Molina could continue, but could not dq Molina because the cornerman entered the ring because the round would be over. I am not able to post the link but boxingscene has an article on this and cites a Texas Commission Rule explaining it. http://www.boxingscene.com/team-molina-ref-violated-texas-rules-kirkland-fight--51076
This happened to Diego Morales, Erik's brother, but it seems the cornerman in that situation entered before the time was up. I wasn't sure of the details. from boxrec- 2002-04-05 : Fernando Velardez 121 lbs beat Diego Morales 122 lbs by DQ in round 9 of 12 Location: Auditorio Municipal, Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico Morales DQ'd after his corner enters the ring before the end of the round, Velardez down four times. <!-- NewPP limit reportPreprocessor node count: 4/1000000Post-expand include size: 0/2097152 bytesTemplate argument size: 0/2097152 bytesExpensive parser function count: 0/100--><!-- Saved in parser cache with key wikidbcache:idhash:13857-0!*!*!*!*!*!* and timestamp 20120310025504 -->
justice was served when erik beat him up and knocked him out a few months later. also made a mockery of bobby, posing behind him to take a picture while he was still down getting checked up by the ringside physician.
It should be plain as day to anyone who understands what DISQUALIFICATION means This extraordinary IQ you constantly claim to possess is failing you here.
Molina team makes a good point. IF there's a kd and the round ends, the bell is supossed to ring at the moment the fighter gets up. The ref and the commission didn't even knew their own rules and it was obvious the call was made to save the home fighter. And even if it was right, it was a bullshit call as it had no influence on the fight. Same with Marlon B. Wright in the Bute-Andrade fight. Technically he was right, but the only reason he apllied the rule so strictly was to save the homer's ass.
Damn, I should have read the thread before replying as your post is basically the same as mine, just better.
I think you are retarded. Plain and simple. The ref should have disqualified during the count. He should have. He didn't. You seem, in your infinite stupidity, to think because he delayed the dq 20 seconds that he is therefore barred from doing it. Show me a rule.jUST SHOW ME THE RULE AND I WILL CONCEDE I AM WRONG. That is the principle here. Better late than never is the axiom here. Show me a rule that says the ref cannot make a dq call after he administers a count. Just show me that he did something wrong. The ref is human. He continued with the count and said "are you fucking kidding me" to the corner. He was showing objective signs of frustration. After he administered the count he then either A. remembered or b WAS TOLD THAT he had to dq MOLINA. Please just stop with this debate. My fingers can't take the beating I am putting on you any longer. I am starting to think you are too stupid to understand. This is a very simple matter. The ref either must or may dq a fighter for entering the ring. Either he had to or it was within is discretion to do so.Anyway you slice it, he enforced the rules. What is really going on here it that you wanted the fight to go on and you think THE RULE should not be followed. You aren't using reason. YOU are droning on like a menstruation woman. Why count, wahahahahaha. he did count. Get the fuck over it. He still did the right thing. Molina's corner fucked up. PERIOD. END OF STORY.
