Russell Crowe is set to star in the $130 million production of "Noah" based on the bible story. Its director, Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan), left the "Wolverine" movie to concentrate on this, his pet project for the last five years. Aronofsky clarified that this will not be a comedy, but said, "This is definitely more the sci-fi version. It's the traditional Noah story, but it's told in a serious way." "Noah" is part of flood of biblical movies now in development including another Moses story tentatively to be directed by Steven Spielberg. Aronofsky approved a french graphic novel of his script to try to sell the idea to the studios. It definitely will not be a religious film, but more of a 'event epic action film' (think "2012").

I hope they stay true to the real story and don't fabricate anything.

Aronofsky, I respect his work, but sometimes he goes bizarre.

comparing any Aronofsky film to 2012 is ridiculous. He would never make crap like that.

The comparison was about not the quality, but the epic scope of an 'event' 'disaster film'. That said IMO all Aronosky films are crap. Couldn't care less for his filmography (I know you are a fan Anthony, but to each his own).

Was he making a Wolverine sequel? And Crowe isn't shot. He just hasn't had any meaningful roles since the next three days.

I really enjoyed it. Probably would give it around 7.5-8/10 going off of the memory of how much I remember I liked it. Don't ask me why, but for some reason I think you will find it only okay.
