I like Ben Arfa and he's obviously been better this season, but overall, no, I disagree.

Both Ben Arthur and Taarabt love to take players on, but I think Taarabt is a more natural and more skillful player, plus I believe he's a better thinker on the ball.

He should have received a better reception, as you said he didn't want or look for the move.. anyway he fades in to many games. I still have faith in Carroll but his work rate needs to improve

Not sure why he should have got a better reception: he turned out for the opposition at SJP and, old boy or not, that qualifies him for a suitable level of vitrol. That's what home fans do.

No way. Marc Bircham and Kevin Gallen always received warm receptions when they returned to Loftus Road.

If you believe the reports - he was sold in every sense of the word, while Im not against players getting a bit of flack I thought his situation was different. Guys like Enrique now that's a different story he wanted out and must accept the consequences

Yeah I gotta agree - if a guy gave his all for your club the fans should respect that

True story: the first time Sir Les came back to St James' after he left NUFC he was cheered to the rafters when his name was read out over the tannoy. On his first touch, the whole ground booed him  He took it in good grace, and understood...

I felt sorry for Carroll in the cold light of day. There is no doubt in my mind that he was sold as against his will as a professional footballer can be. Most Mags of my acquaintence feel the same way.

We all booed his every touch, though. Sunday was a BIG game for NUFC: a real chance to all but cement a top-six place (and a likely place in Europe) this season and, for 90 minutes, Carroll was part of the enemy, and our nearest challengers, trying to prevent us from doing that. It is the job of fans at SJP to unnerve the enemy with the kind of noise and vitriol Carroll received.

That truly is pathetic. How does a "Big" football club run up a debt at a newsagents.

Leeds down to 10. Stupid off the ground flying tackle going in. Yet again footballers not knowing how to tackle properly :shit: Reading should take this from here. They've just hit the bar.

Cisse off the mark after just four minutes. 0-1 Newcastle.

Quality goal. The sky team were comparing Cisse and Cole. Is Ba completely happy now that Cisse is scoring the goals?

Damn, Celtic are kicking the shit out of Kilmarnock. Could have easily been 4-0.

No need for the " :scared2: "...shite is shite. At this rate, Liverpool are going to get relegated. I said it, relegated.

Pat Dolan said it best in the days following Liverpool being knocked out of the Carling Cup by Northampton...."well, they can't blame Rafa now. Benitez used to be everbody's favourite punchbag".

I still have that on the Sky+ box. Might upload it tonight and see what responses it gets.

Dalglish needs to answer for his position regarding Maxi Rodriguez. Why is the guy persistently omitted?? Benched constantly. So that Shelvey or Flanagan might come in?

Being objective- he came in when the attendance rates were dropping like a stone. He took about three games to get warmed up, then took the team from a few points north of the relegation zone on a mad burst that saw them get to the fringes of Europa League qualification outright- I think it came down to the last two games of the season, IIRC. He then went off on another campaign that saw them win the League Cup and, so far, get to the Semi of the FA Cup.

The flip side is the current spell, say from Arsenal home defeat, to preset. Okay, anyone can get beat by Arsenal, they shouldn't.

Its both. Its been both good and bad. I know you have a beef with him, I am not going to argue it, because I have one with Hodgson, so we all have our pet hates, no point in the pot getting involved with the kettle.

The deciding factor, for me, in evaluating Dalglish over-all performance has been the juxtaposing of the money spent and the form generated. Kenny was supposed to be everything Benitez wasn't, viz a unifier of men, a handler of men, a man who could drive guys on.

After Liverpool lost at Sunderland in the "Beach-Ball" game, they were on three straight defeats. In all comps. Gary Lineker stuck his face in the camera on the BBC the the night before the game and sneered about how Liverpool hadn't lost 4 straight for so-many-years and that this was "A Facht"

Liverpool beat United the following afternoon in an atmosphere at Anfield that could only be described as febrile.

Benitez, in his most disappointing season, still managed 7th, a Europa League semi-final and 60 odd points. Dalglish has, in his own mini-crisis, failed to arrest the slide, and that cannot be denied by anyone no matter what angle they take on it.

Even Hodgson, the benevolent old useless sap, managed to find a home win vs Chelsea, an away win vs Bolton, to stop the rot. He eventually failed, but he is Hodgson, a career failure. Dalglish is above that, and that's why hitting the posts is no excuse.

I do sometimes wonder, is it worth it being a football fan??? :dunno:

Trap better have the boy McClean in the Ireland squad. Christ I cannot even have a peaceful Summer.

McClean was one of the few bright lights of the entire Spurs vs Sunderland game there earlier.

Seems very quiet on the tele and internet land. Like the Queen just came out as queer or something. Nobody wants to talk about it. They all know it. News just in from Kempton, there are some horses on the tracks. Better get the cameras over there. :wack:
