Well its very clear Floyd & Miguel like eachother. Which is cool. You don't need to have bad blood in EVERY fight.

The impression I get from Cotto is that he knows in the back of his mind he's gonna lose. That was apparent when Max asked Miguel how he plans to beat Floyd, and he really had no answer. Only "I'll work harder than him."

I think this will be similar to Cotto-Pac in a way. Cotto came out strong, and trying, but once Pac started countering the shit outta him, and putting pain on him, Cotto stopped trying to really WIN.

I suspect the same might happen here. He'll come out aggressive, which will cause Floyd to open up. After a few rounds of getting touched up badly, Cotto will go into survival mode.

I think Cotto will go into survival mode from the opening bell. I think his strategy would be to run from Floyd and counter...hoping to catch Mayweather with something big.

Cotto's not a natural counter puncher. If he finders himself in that position it's because he'll be getting beaten up, not because it's a strategy.

Understood. Still, If he's smart, this is the strategy he should use from the beginning. Floyd wont be expecting to chase him and that may cause Mayweather to be careless and walk into something (you know the old adage: don't follow a puncher around the ring).

If Cotto comes to Floyd with aggression (albeit controlled) he'd get picked apart and beaten up double time.

Why would you draw that conclusion? As if it follows lkgically. It simply doesn't. It's as pointless a statement the second time you made it as the first.

Mayweather will have to throw more punches to make that the case.

No need to rematch someone you've beaten convincingly. That's the point.

Cotto will lose easily. Too slow. Too predictable. Too short.

Seriously. Mayweather isn't as aggressive as Sly seems to think.

Cotto IS a natural counterpuncher. Not sure how people get the idea he isn't. Since very early in his career he's had the mentality of a counterpuncher.

this is what i dont get. some of the same clowns complaining that mayweather jr avoided cotto at one point or another are now saying cotto has no chance because style wise he simply doesnt match up.

the guy is a viable opponent, even at this point

Stylewise i don't think Cotto has much of a chance. He's more "viable" than Marquez was though.

There aren't very many. Martinez is the only one that stands out.

I think Floyd will beat Cotto with relative ease. It will still be a respectable win on his resume.

Between Bradley and Cotto i think Pac and Floyd are fighting the most respectable oppostion available.

It doesn't matter if Floyd takes on Wlad and Manny takes on Vitali. Anything other than fighting each other is treading water.

You are out of your fucking mind dude. Cotto isn't running from Floyd. Nobody has ever run from Floyd.

Depends if you consider back pedaling and no longer trying to win running.

Unless Cotto backpeddles and makes it a cagey tactical fight, Floyd wins every second of every minute of every round until the fight is stopped in the 8th

this is the most likely scenario IMO.. but if Cotto comes out more aggressive it will be better and Floyd will only stop him earlier

Jesus christ that face off was mind numbingly boring, and every few seconds I felt like unleashing a vicious hook to Kellerman's stupid, sycophantic face with every ounce of torque I could muster.

The way you guys are talking are as though Cotto is a complete bum. If this fight ends in a upset I would love to see the reaction here.

Stylistically this is one of the most one-sided fights in history considering the fact that they are competitive in terms of ability.

Upset is HIGHLY unlikely in this one. Zab Judah was far more likely to upset Mayweather than Cotto is.
