Not only are you deluded, but now you're just being a hypocritical douchebag. The size of the promotion doesn't necessarily correlate with the pay to the fighters. K-1 made Ray Sefo a shitload of money, for example, and plenty of American fighters went to Pride precisely because they would make more money there.
Dude, honestly, the definition of delusional is thinking for even a split second that a HW like Overeem could make better money in MMA anywhere OTHER than the UFC. And PRIDE? PRIDE's not even an option anymore you moron.... Hell, Affliction paid amazingly but guess what???? They're no longer in fucking business. As I said, any MMA fighter good enough to be in the UFC that chooses to fight in Japan, has GOT to be suspected of juicing. There is absolutely no other reason for guys like Barnett and Overeem to avoid the UFC. Honestly, you're a complete dolt for even questioning that. The UFC provides the most exposure; more valueable sponsorship opportunities; stability; and yes, great pay for MMA fighters. And forget about the financial side for a second. There is no more prestigious MMA title than being a UFC Champion. Globally, no one gives a shit about who the "Ultimate Glory Fight" champion is, but everyone knows the UFC champions. By the way, speaking of hypocritical, you use the term "Monopoly" all the fucking time to describe the UFC's hold on MMA. Yet now, when we talk about fighters staying in Japan, you act like there are organizations out there that are better options for guys like Overeem. Which is it moron? :l1:
Z asked a legitimate question. Which fighters, booted from the UFC for steroids, has Dana let back into the UFC. I am curious about that myself. I can't think of any off the top of my head. I'm sure there have to be some, but I just can remember them. Help. :dunno: If Barnett fights in the UFC again, I will be pissed. I can't think of anyone in MMA that is a bigger, known cheater. I know Dana is literally praying that Cormier beats his ass. It would make it easy NOT to bring Barnett back.
We werent specifically talking about fighters who were booted, we were talking about fighters who were busted and then got slaps on the wrist. At least thats my argument.
I agree completely with this, but I think Overeem's original reason for fighting in Japan and then Strikeforce was because the UFC wouldn't allow him to compete in K-1. Of course they're not in the picture anymore, and the UFC bought out Strikeforce. Fedor had that sambo issue with the UFC, and I think it's understandable on both of their parts that they didn't want to give those up. Anyway, that's off topic, and Overeem is obviously roided.
You're dropping to cdogg type stupidity, man. Overeem has been all over, including in the US, and presumably has been looking to make the most money possible. The UFC, until Brock, had shit in the heavyweight division for a draw. Whether or not Overeem could have made more money in the US wasn't and still isn't clear to me which is why I asked what your basis was for your comment. Nor is it clear that he even would have had the option to fight for the UFC if he wanted to. I asked a simple question and you went complete, douchebag bitch. Here was your original post "I don't what percentage of fighters juice, but it doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to suspect foul play when a top fighter like Barnett or Overeem stay in Japan when the big money in the US." I asked about that conclusion for a couple of obvious reasons. 1. He has been in the US recently and only been going back to Japan because he wanted to do K-1; and 2. With his record in the past, it isn't clear that he could have gotten into the UFC even if he had wanted to, nor is it clear that there was more money for him in the UFC. Only after he built his reputation up in Strikeforce did he warrant the big $ contract with the UFC. But his performance 'improvement' matches up with his physique 'improvement'. If you reread your post and then my questioning of one part of it, you'll see that you acted like a stupid cunt. Now I don't even care what your answer is because it's obvious you just spoke out of your ass, but I did give you a chance to admit as much and I wasn't going to care if that was the case. I was actually hoping you had a real basis for that belief. Carry on. PS. In response to your inevitable attempt to get the last word in without comprehending what actually happened, you can just assume that I will say reread this post and the sequence that lead to it.
Simply question for you. Is there a better financial option in MMA for Overeem or Barnett outside the UFC? Simple question. Don't spin or dodge. It's a simple yes or no question that even a dolt like you can answer.
So Overeem takes steroids. Wow! Breaking news! :l1: And another one bites the dust in the UFC. JDS doesn't even know who to train for.
Funny, you asked if Z was paying attention. I need to ask you the same thing because it was you who said "With Dana's history of letting fighters back in......" Not sure you can get "BACK" unless you've been 'BOOTED'. So yes, you were talking specifically about fighters that got booted.
I highly doubt that there is right now. Maybe for Barnett since I don't know what the UFC would pay him, but Overeem is/was apparently getting a % of the ppv revenue and making a few million per fight. Very unlikely that he can make that kind of money elsewhere. This is a different branch of debate, btw, and not what lead to my original question to you.
This coming from a guy who doesn't even order UFC ppvs. "It's awesome, just as long as I don't need to pay money to watch it!" LOL
I have pretty much ordered every UFC PPV for the past 5 years, probably longer. You have been gone so long you don't know who is who.
I initially wrote: And you got your big girl panties all in a bunch and asked if I could prove the big money was in the US. So thanks for validating my comment. And as I also said earlier, only an absolute moron would think there are better financial options for Barnett or Overeem than Zuffa.
So basically you're saying that MMA is the UFC. Seems no other mma org has a chance in hell of thriving. Not sure how well Bellator is doing but it seems Spike is behind them. Although I hate the Bellator production and the fighters in it. I doubt they're making much money, fighting in small arenas or ballrooms.
UFC is the major league of MMA. It's not all of MMA though, and I enjoy watching some of the smaller shows. Bellator is doing the right thing. Growing slowly. Strikeforce was on the right track, until they sold out to Zuffa. Now they will be gone within another 1-2 years. There is a place for small orgs.
