A lot of what TKO says makes sense, but of the clubs really struggling right now, only Wigan and QPR really try to play football as such. Wolves and Blackburn do not. Especially Wolves. Nobody likes Wolves. Next year Kevin Doyle will be playing for Reading. Kean wasn't a manager per se to begin with so he isn't losing out too much. He'll get another go. Remember- Blackburn were the original "buy the title" club.
What frustrates me is that QPR can turn it on at home and beat the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal, but away from home we can't and lack that spark that we show at home.
Wigan are on form lately, so this result doesn't surprise me, but Arsenal should be winning that game.
It annoys me. I need to see Spurs die. I really do. I'm already loving the knifes coming out for Sir Harry, now...I just need to see Gareth Bale kill Van Der Vaart in some sort of sex-game-gone-wrong kind of thing. Maybe Daniel Levy getting investigated for his role in giant Ponzi scheme. Would suit me just fine.
Looking difficult for QPR, tough run in. Really hope they pull it out, not least because I cant abide Blackburn, Bolton or Wigan. It's ryyyt grim oop nowth.
I'm watching the FA Cup semi replay. I can't believe that fans actually get up and leave early when there is only a one goal difference. It happened at Goodison when we played Chelsea (Carling Cup tie) and Man U in a leage match. Quite a few people around me got up and headed to the exits with five minutes to go or so. :wack: We lost both games by a goal. Hell, in the Chelsea game we came close to scoring one. That would have been funny.
Modern era. People living vicariously through their teams. And the cameras are so fast to zoom in. Zoom in on the fans, then the manager. Its part of why I gave up watching the games.
Yeah. I realize it's a bitch to beat traffic and just to get out of the grounds. Hell, when I went to the NFL game at Wembley, it took about an hour or so just to get the crowd out of the stadium and onto the trains or back to the carparks. I could possibly see leaving if it were a three or maybe even a two goal difference (I wouldn't leave but I could maybe see it.) Take those Everton fans for example, that were leaving Wembley when it was 2-1 at the end. Imagine if they made their way out of the grounds and then Everton tied it up. Then they miss the extra time and possible the PKs. Bunch of fucking idiots!
Urghh...I hate Spurs, personally. Too many bad memories about cockneys waving tenners at SJP during the Thatcher years, tapping Gazza up whilst playing for England, 'The Tottenham Way' etc etc MTF :shit:
Hmm. Im not that familiar with spurs as a club, tbh. There isn't a hook I have to hang them on. I really enjoyed watching them earlier this season, & thats about as deep as I go with them. They're the colour beige to me beyond that
You would do well to be another stoke.. Blackpool had flair where are they now. Wigan, Blackburn qpr etc have the potential to beat the 'bigger' teams but you also have the ability to fold like a cheap deck chair. Qpr leave a sour taste people talk about the Blackburn owners what happened to the revelution at qpr? When is that going to happened, when is the sequel out..?
:: I usually attack a club where they are over-hyped {spurs} or really bitter, shitty fans, a la Stoke, with their moving of the goalposts, literally in their case. QPR never bothered me one way or the next.
QPR have a proper non-ikea stadium & good fans who hate Chelsea as much as Celtic. Good guys in my book.
Yeah, down with fishbowl stadia. One of the best stadia going- on paper at least. Of course, they'll never build it.
Beskitas stadium is a great venue, savage view. <object style="height: 390px; width: 640px"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/xppDvbNHjkQ?version=3&feature=player_detailpage"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/xppDvbNHjkQ?version=3&feature=player_detailpage" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="360"></object> All the bollox about how there is no atmosphere with a running track :shit: There's no atmosphere with soft fans. The Premier League fans are funereal.
I like the look of it, anyway (new Liverpool). Plenty defining features. I still think westphalian is the best stadium in the world - it bears a fair bit of resemblance to that
A pish 60,000 I mean, if you are going to make a mess, make a mess for 75,000 Something to do with transport access means it would never get built. Arsenals stadium is garbage. In the Old Highbury they used to be down on the ground almost.
The most important thing, atmosphere wise is really just the demographics. Working class MEN between 18-40 = atmosphere. No further analysis required. Everybody else is dead weight. I've never really been a fan of all that choreographed stuff, personally. The green brigade have brought it in here and I think it's pish. Spontaneity > spectacle
Yeah there is a general vibe going around which disagrees with the playing of music etc. A song,or anthem is fine. United coming out the Rocky Music...my God, how shite is that. Place deserted if they fall a few goals behind etc. fans being told how to celebrate etc. Its stupid. Once the clubs themselves got around to issuing banners and flags, you knew the patient was running the asylum. Pathetic really.
Reading going up. That means QPR are going down. There can only be one blue-and-white hoops. :scared2:
Yup. Usually crap in reality. The only time I've ever known some of that shite to work was Shearer's testimonial at SJP. They gave everyone free scarves and the whole ground bounced for near twenty minutes at the end. Very good. MTF
Technically QPR play in horizontal stripes. Celtic dispensed with the hoops in the mid 90s and went with horizontal stripes. I was 8 and even I felt a nascent sense of outrage about it. :: We had our worst two seasons since the 40s. Like playing Man Utds grey strip for 2 years, what a bummer.
