This is a tough fight to call. The pre-Machida version of Rashad Evans had fallen in love with his striking and had essentially abandoned his wrestling. The KO loss to Machida was a wake up call and since that point Rashad has done a great job of mixing up his attack.

Unfortunately the other thing to come out of the Machida fight were questions about Rashad's chin. He was obviously knocked silly by Machida but was also badly hurt versus both Thiago Silva and Rampage Jackson in subsequent fights.

I just see too many ways Jones can win this fight and too few ways that Rashad can. Jones proved to be a master of managing distance in his fight with Machida. He also showed that he can fight productively while countering as he did with Rampage or while pushing the attack like he did in the second round with Machida.

And I don't think you can discount the physical advantages held by Jones. He will have a 10' reach advantage and could out-weigh Rashad by 10 pounds on fight night. Jones is also 8 years younger and seemingly a better natural athlete.

I expect a good fight with Evans pushing things early and probably getting a take down that could get in Jones head a little bit. But eventually reflexes and range will kill for Jones as he pulls off a 4th round TKO.
