I didn't mean to imply that I thought it was a weakness of the UFC. I agree that their matchmaking is generally very good or better. But, it's not like they don't have some shit matchups that warrant criticism or indifference and when they do, it is rarely, if ever, acknowledged by Trplsec.
Ummmm, you were tasked with listing things I support the UFC on and this is what you come back with? Not one, single example? LOL.. What a tool.
REED's Point is Blatantly OBVIOUS, Dude... U're Asking LAME Ass "Follow Up Questions" as a JUVENILE Way of Diverting the Issue...YOUR Idea of Debating is IGNORING a Tangible Point by Asking a "Follow Up Question"... WEAK... REEDhno:
Ummm, "Their match-making is generally very good or better." And you slam me for NOT being critical of it? I agree with you. They usually make great match-ups and that's why I rarely find fault. That being said, unlike your silly, biased ass, I call them like I see them. And if I don't like a card or a fight, I'll say so. But by the same token, I rarely complain about Bellator's match-ups either. So, maybe I am a Bellator shill as well...... Damn Mike, how'd you miss that????? I'm all over Bjorn Rebney's nuts....... :: Again, you look dumber with every post.
Why would the UFC Offer to Sponsor CERTAIN Fighters Over Others, if they Didn't See Something EXTRA (Talent, Potential Marketability, etc.) in those Fighters???... To B Clear, UFC ISN'T Offering to Sponsor ALL of their Fighters, just SOME of them...Why Is that, Anthony???...What do YOU Think their Criteria is???...Should we Expect Phil Davis to B Sponsored Right Along w/Bones Jones???... REED Can Play the "Follow Up Question" Game Too... REED:shit:
& You Asking a LAME, WEAK, JUVENILE Ass Question, In Place of Actually DEBATING A POINT, is INeffective... REED:dancingBaby:
I have been debating the point. Have you been reading this thread? do you want me to post all my post all over again for you? I think i deserve a medal for debating a point without nobody being able to answer my question.
Riiiight... UFC Thinks just as Highly of AND Treats Cheick Kongo The SAME as they Treat Bones Jones, Because EVERY UFC Fighter is "The Face" of the Organization"... REED:shit:
USA TODAY: If Rashad was not under contract to another apparel manufacturer, would he be a guy you'd want wearing your gear? Fertitta: Certainly. Listen, we'd love to have as many guys that want to wear gear. _____________________________________________________ "The UFC didn't contact us and say, 'Hey, we're interested in putting Jon in our shirts and shorts. Let's get into a bidding war.' That's not what happened. It's nothing like that. It was our decision to not go in with any other sponsors." -Jones' Manager
bones is the Champ. If Kongo becomes the champ, yes. We are talking about wearing some damn shorts here.
Godfather, I don't think you really understand what what REED is saying to you. So I will give MY rendition to clarify. If I signed with the UFC and fought Jon Jones, and both Jones and I wore the same Nike shorts in the fight, would I be getting more attention than Jon Jones for wearing Nike shorts? Would Nike give an equal amount of sh*t that both Jon Jones and I were both wearing Nike shorts? Or would Nike care more if Jon Jones the reigning champion was wearing Nike shorts? And if I KO'd Jon Jones and Jon Jones is laying unconscious on the canvas in his blood soaked Nike shorts, do you think Nike would still be happy and say "Well, Hanz is wearing Nike shorts so either way it's win-win for us!" :atu::l2::laugh11:
That's actually not true. I've seen Trplsec criticize a lot of these events. Anthony, on the other hand... :stir:
When a fighter gets knocked out, do you think his sponsors don't want him to put their shirt or hat on when the winner is announced? Hell no, win or lose they want their brand name out there. Get real.
Rashad Evans is a Former World Champion in the PRIME of his Career...Arguably one of the 5-10 BIGGEST Names in the Sport... If U HONESTLY Think UFC Would Offer the SAME Sponsorship Deal to a Lower Rung Guy who Perpetually Fights on the NON-Televised Portion of UFC Shows, U're Fooling yourself...If that WERE the Case, UFC Could Simply Offer Sponsorhip to ALL of their Fighters...It'd B Terribly EASY to Do Such a Thing... But Instead, UFC is Only Offering Sponsorship to SOME Fighters...Fighters Who (Conveniently???) R Amongst their Biggest Names... As for the Quote from Bones' Manager, what is he SUPPOSED to Say???...UFC has EXPERTLY Matched & Marketed Bones to the Brink of Transcedent Superstardom...He'd B an IDIOT to Rock the Boat OR Bite the Hand that's Feeding him, @ this Point.... REED:dancingBaby:
What part of the the article didnt you understand? When the UFC said they want as many guys to wear the shorts that want to do it. I mean this kills Reed's whole damn argument.
Nobody just puts their f*cking brand name on any Joe Schmo. You need to have a solid history of WINNING matches before the sponsors will even bat an eyelid. Look at Roger Federer. Did he get immediate sponsorships when he beat the legendary Pete Sampras at Wimbledon in 2001? No he didn't because he had 1 good victory while the rest of the time was getting his ass kicked in most every tournament. Federer had to play his ass off for years and win Grand Slams before the sponsors came knocking. Just like if both Jon Jones and I were to fight, do you think Nike would suddenly turn to me and offer me sponsorship just because a nobody like me got lucky and beat up the guy whom Nike was considering sponsoring? Come on Trplesec. Why are you being naive?:dunno:
This is not a simple sponsorship deal like Nike would offer. It's a completely different thing. did you fucking read the Interview?
The whole f*cking thread is stupid. What f*cking difference does it make if every fighter is wearing UFC trunks? What does it accomplish? All the f*cking fighters are employed by the UFC. We're talking about Jon Jones getting sponsored by one of the biggest brand names in the world with Nike. That's a whole different thing.
LORENZO FERTITTA: The Jon Jones thing, it's really kind baffling to me that people have kind of responded the way they have. I guess because people don't really understand how it came about. To give you a little bit of background, I was going through the process of renegotiating with Jon and his management team on his fight contract. One of the things they brought up was that Jon was at a point where he didn't necessarily want to sign contracts with some of these smaller, what I'll call, T-shirt companies that you historically see in UFC, whether it be Tapout or MMA Elite or any of these other guys. His aspirations (were) that he wanted to be signed by a Nike or an Adidas or an Under Armour, somebody like that. The reality is, those opportunities don't present themselves to Jon right now, and that's why I suggested, "Hey look, we've got this performance line of gear. Let us send it to you. You can test it. You can try it out. If you like it, then you can wear it in your next couple of fights." In addition to that, it's nonexclusive. (He) can still go out and get a deal with Nike, Under Armour, Reebok or Adidas. So it's a very open-ended process as far as him wearing that. And there's been other guys that have worn UFC-branded product to fight in as well. So it's not necessarily the first time. BRYAN JOHNSTON: We tried to actually do a quick count of how many times fighters have worn UFC gear, and we can't even count it. But it's in excess of 20. If you go to UFC's (website) and you look at the apparel part of the website, you'll see Phil Davis, Urijah Faber, Clay Guida – I can't even give you the list of fighters that are all wearing the performance gear and all wearing the lifestyle gear.
REED KNOWS You're Playing your Dumb Divergent Game, but he'll Play Along w/U... Being the FACE of a Company IS NOT the Same as Being A PART or a REPRESENTATIVE of that Company...Michael Jordan was THE FACE of the NBA, Brad Davis was Not...Today, LeBron James is Probably THE FACE of the NBA...Brian Scalabrini Is Not... EVERY Entity within a Company CANNOT B Considered THE FACE of that Company... Got It???... Jon Jones is THE FACE of UFC...U Could Lump your Anderson Silva's, GSP's & a Handful of Others in There...Cheick Kongo Is NOT Got It???... REED:dancingBaby:
This is getting strange, arguing about who is the face of the UFC? You guys just love to argue don't you.
Saying "We'd Love to Have..." & Actually OFFERING Sponsorship to EVERY UFC Fighter AIN'T The Same Thing, Homey... UFC Could've Very Simply Issued a Press Release Stating, "We're Going to Sponsor EVERY SINGLE Fighter on the UFC Roster that ISN'T Currently Contracted to Another Sponsor"... Why DIDN'T They just Do THAT, Anthony???... REED:limp:
Blame your Moderator... Instead of ADDRESSING a Point, he Goes Off on Tangents of Tangents.... REED:hammert:
Read what I am asking. If TapOut sponsors a fighter that loses, do they tell him NOT to put their apparel on when the other guy's hand is raised. NO, they don't. They want their name shown. I am not asking about whether they DECIDE to sponsor a fighter. I am asking about fighters that already have deals. If Jon Jones gets knocked out by Evans, the UFC won't tell him to put someone else's shirt on. Although that would be funny. Jones loses and Dana hands him a Bellator Tee-Shirt :l1::l1::l1:
USA TODAY: In terms of actually wearing the gear into the cage for a real fight, how many fighters have done that besides Jon? BRYAN JOHNSTON: Again, we can't really count it, but you've got everything from the guy who just came over from China (Tiequan Zhang), and then there's a whole list of fighters who typically find on the undercard, that may not have a sponsor, that we gladly give product to. I mean i dont even have to use my own fucking words. The article is schooling you
