Sopranos

I'm seriously addicted to this lately. Never seen it properly before and I know i'm missing out......but not anymore, it's awesome. Nearly through the first boxset already. Have to get hold of the second boxset this weekend then. :rock1:

 

Sopranos....like Tony Soprano??.....and if by first boxset you mean season 1....then go ahead buy season 2 and 3...then it turn into SHIT....a few good episodes sprinkled about but nothing near as good as the first few seasons.

 

Aye, Tony Soprano - first season, yeah. Thanks for the advice. I'll keep with it and see how it goes. I've been up to the early hours each day this week watching episodes. I'm so hooked.

 

You should check out THE WIRE....much better HBO series...

worshipped this series. but only got through two episodes of the last season; seemed to turn into a sensationalist mess. the penultimate season was dodgy too. steve buscemi's whole entrance was pretty flat.

but before that, seasons 2, 3, etc., unreal, fucking brilliant. joe pantoliano as ralphie sifaretto, tony's mom, big pussy bonpinsero, john heard as the fat corrupt cop, christopher and paulie out in the woods, .... :bears:

 

I agree with Illuminati. DON'T WATCH THE FINAL SEASON!! It is awful. It was so bad....I can't watch the show at all now.Compared to "bREAKING bAD" AND "The Wire" the Sopranos is garbage.

 

I never liked that show.

That and Friends are two of the most overrated shows ever.

 

Come on. Everyone knows the show ends when Tony realizes Meadow isn't his daughter then takes her on the kitchen counter while Carmella and Silvo watch.

Everyone on the planet knows this is how the series ends.

Never bothered to watch Sopranos, 24 or Lost. Just recently finished the final season of The Wire, Season 1 of Heroes and Season 1 of Game of Thrones. All 3 of those were super awesome shows IMO.

Hero's surprised me the most because you think it's just some silly superhero action show but it turns out to be pretty dramatical with nice twists and shockers all the time. Hope the other seasons are just as good.

The 2nd season of The Wire was a bit of a dude as they focused too much on the dock workers and the final season was probably the 2nd lamest as it focused a lot on the newspaper workers but the other 3 were all top notch.

 

You will be disappointed....

 

I enjoyed watching the first series of Heroes, but after that it just lost its appeal to me. I may need to give it a second go and watch it again to see if I can get into it.

 

Did anyone watch Smallville? The first 2-3 seasons were pretty good, but then it became quite ridiculous and drawn out with so many other ''superheroes'' and what not.

 

The last season was terrible. The ending for the Sopranos was perhaps the worst in history of any show ever. Stop being a contrarian.

 

I was afraid someone would say that.

Although that often appears to be his stance, I tend to just give him the benefit of the doubt that he occasionally has horrible taste in film.

 

I wouldn't even listen for a second if someone says the last season was ok and that the ending was good........................GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE WITH THAT SHIT.

I felt that the end was so bad, I can't even tell people the show was worth watching. It was awful.

In this case, the majority is right. The ending was nearly universally panned for being the biggest turd ever laid. If I were HBO, I'd have sued him. Not for any reason, or legal reason. I'd sue saying it sucked.

 

"24" was good for the first 2-3 seasons or so, and just became comical after that. "Lost" I think was an awesome experience even if it drove you fucking crazy with all the ridiculous twists sometimes.
