I feel like its an insult to the rest of those guys to even have DLH on the list.

Everybody on that list was AT LEAST one level above Oscar.

But to answer the question........ Floyd and Leonard are the the two top guys here. Hopkins was/is super skilled as well, but one tier below Floyd and Ray IMO.

If the question was pure talent...... it'd be Roy, followed by Leonard, Ali, and Floyd.

Putting personality totally aside, if I could get one of them to teach my kid everything he knows, it'd probably be either Duran or Toney.

LMAO! Imagine having Toney AND Duran teaching you everything.

Your kid would become the biggest shit talker in history. AND he'd gain about 75 pounds between fights.

"Skill" is in and of itself a vague category

Do we define by the textbook? In that case, Jones and Ali would never make a list... they did everything you aren't SUPPOSED to do, but they made it work with their unique physical talents.

If we define it as "doing it correctly", Harold Johnson is probably the most "skilled" fighter I have ever seen.

It's a pretty meaningless and vague question, really

We have to therefore choose a definition that suits us, define it and then formulate a list.

Arguing over the meaning of the word "skill" is stupid and unfruitful.

Wasn't it skill when Roy dodged every punch thrown his way and landed six punch combos?

Skill can be taught, talent cant.

If we're talking skill, Whitaker defintely would be near the top of that list. Higher than Roy. Roy was more talented, though.Better athlete, faster hands, more power. But Whitaker had the fundamentals of defense down that few did with his ability to slip punches and counter punch.

If we are just talking teachable skill....this topic is fucked up.

There are lots of textbook fighters (Michael Watson for example) that Roy Jones would have fucked up. So what's the point of this thread?

Jones had been perfecting that style day in day out since he was a little kid. It was his own brand of skill, IMO
