Don't always try to fault the crowd, Godfather. You liked it. Thousands of people in the arena clearly didn't.:dunno:
Even John Cena gets many many more cheers for winning a fake wrestling match than UFC fighters get for winning a real fight.

It's also worth pointing out that most of the crowd paid WAY more than the cost of a PPV to watch a low-action main event. Tickets are expensive, crowds feel entitled to action.

You have a guy displaying unbelievable technical skill unlike no one has seen and a crowd is booing? Why wouldn't i blame the crowd?

I'm going by all the tweets and posts on espn slamming the fight.

Trying to explain the mentality of a fight crowd who paid big dollars to be there. It's tougher to pick up on subtlety because cage fighting, like boxing, is a crappy live sport unless you have good seats.

Solid technical skill is tough to pick up on unless you have good seats.

Kind hard to miss these. The crowd doesnt ooo and ahhh if they cant see whats going on. And there were lots of ooos and lots of ahhs. I think the booing had more to do that there was not a KO.

I just blame them for booing because there wasnt a KO. Which is what i think they were booing.

Or that in the 4th and 5th one of the fighters had stopped trying to win.

Amazing display by Jones. He used his range and really limited Rashad to looking for the homerun punch. Absolutely brilliant by Jones.

And the really impressive thing is that Jones pressed the action. He kept backing Rashad up. Jones didn't have even a single opportunity to set up a takedown attempt because Jones kept him off balance with a crazy array of strikes.

The real stars of the card were Rory MacDonald and Michael McDonald. Rory completely out-classed Che Mills and Michael McDonald knocked a very tough Miguel Torres out cold.

BUT, Ben Rothwell deserves "Knock out of the Night" simple because of the way Schaub kept trying to grab the invisible man despite the fight being over.

Decent card but mostly because of it being a showcase for some great, up and coming talent.

Doubtful, but possible. Crowds can live without KOs is there are high action exchanges in my experience.

You get impressed very easily Godfather. That's all I can say.
And no, it was not unbelieveable technical skill unlike no one has seen. When you've seen Anderson Silva for the past 6 years and the best of BJ Penn and GSP and a whole lot of exceptional fighters in MMA, it's hard to be impressed with what Jon Jones showed tonight against a rather subservient Rashad Evans who has been destroyed against Machida. Jones was just being a flashy cunt for the most part. Doing some stupid sh*t that Anderson has done numerous times. Good elbows, sub par everything else. Didn't see a killer instinct either.

The crowd booed during the Hominick-Yagen fight which was a bloody, slugfest.

The crowd also booed Jones at the weigh-in.

Either way, as long as thousands of people left the arena feeling like they got ripped off and the fight gets blasted on the Internet I'm happy. Whether they're right or wrong, the more people turned off the better IMO.

No such luck for you. It was huge event with amazing tension and a dominant champion.

A great night for MMA and the UFC. There are few MMA fights where the atmosphere surrounding the event reminds me of some of boxing's megafights. Tonight had that feel.

Well they were booing at the end. Even if it's only one person, it's a start.

I guess we have different definitions of great nights for sports. They don't usually involve booing.

Unless they're Tyson fights where the normal reaction was lots of boos and chants of "Fixed" and "Bullsh*t" and Tyson getting hit in the head with sodas and paper cups.
