I can't do it. I'm going to be in Liverpool two days later. I don't want to hear about their League Cup and FA Cup. I need to enter a more humble atmosphere. Of course if Chelsea win, I have to go back to my hotel area which will be full of Chelsea. But it's easier to tune them out for one night. For my four nights in Liverpool there is only one match going off. A rematch of the FA Cup at Anfield. athetic:
Trust me, the two cups would barely make up for a shitty league campaign not too many LFC fans feel otherwise. Tonights Chelsea vs Barcelona game is going to have major ramifications for the fans of Chelsea, Liverpool, Newcastle etc, I feel.
I pity the fool who tries to outdrink me. :shadow: Though one advantage you may have is that I'll be on my fourth day of a nine day binge. artie:
About 230 :: 16 stone, two-hundred weight. Plenty of fat and muscle. Cannot booze for shit. It just puts me to sleep, like an anaesthetic
:: nothing wrong with not being able to handle your drink though. I enjoy going out at weekends for a good few, but during the week I don't really drink at all.
When I'm in the UK, all I do is drink. I stop off for a pint or two on my way to go drinking. I stop off for a pint or two on the way home(back to the hotel) from drinking. Six months ago, after four straight drinking nights in London, I got to Wales feeling like hell and decided to take a "day off" from drinking. I only had seven pints that night. :TLC:
I don't know how you do it. I get pissed as a fart on a few pints. I want to get into bed. A pint and a cigarette and I am violently ill. Toxins murder me.
Don't usually do shots or even mixed drinks. I'll want to fight someone or do something stupid. Have never smoked or done drugs. Just lots of beer. I get hammered but it's a jolly, controlled hammered. I don't try to fight or dance or anything stupid like that.
I tend to smoke a few cigarettes when I drink beer. If i'm off my trolly, i'd dance :: fuck it :hammert:
Exactly how I see it too. Was hoping the rent boys would win last night, confident in the knowledge that they will now put all their eggs in one basket and get hammered either by Madrid or, I hope, Bayern. There is NO chance that this Chelski side, especially with all those missing players, beats Bayern in their own backyard in a CL final. MTF
Ronaldo doesn't fuck about like that little faggot Messi. He'll just put the ball in the back of the net
On average, I might have 10 units of alcohol and a half a passively-smoked cigarette all year :: I used to smoke occasionally.......like 10 a year or something.
Drogba should have been sent off last night too. I wonder how Chelsea with 9 men would have done. He was on a yellow for fouling Fabregas and then onto a Red for the deliberate handball....the referee played a Barcelona advantage but never went back for the handball. If that didn't bury Chelsea on the night, it certainly would have buried them for the final.
Maybe you're allergic to it? I've known two guys who were literally allergic to booze (including the aforementioned mustachioed champ I mentioned in the other thread).......Pished on one can, barfing half way through the second. Both genetically Irish, FWIW I'd either top myself or start jagging up ::
My point stands though. Whilst Messi is undoubtedly a great player, he NEEDS Xavi and Iniesta to reach his optimum best. Hence why he was so pathetic at the world cup. Ronaldo can win games on his own. If I had the choice of bringing one of the two to QPR, my pick would always be the same.
Ronaldo is as fond of going missing as anyone is. I really don't know about Ronaldo. He did well in the Prem because its all about hurting tiring teams or scoring from free kicks.
He scored against every team in the Premiership though, and has obliterated La Liga this season. There's no doubt he is World player of the year for 2012.
The thing is, Ronaldo doesn't exactly produce the goods for Portugal either....He didn't exactly have a great Euro back in 08 or a great World Cup.... His production for the national team is very much in question too. He's had his fair of choke moment as well. That said, both Ronaldo and Messi are different types of players. I mean, how would Ronaldo fair in the Barcelona system if he was on that team???.... He may be able to adapt but it also might not fit him. Same question for Messi, how would he fair in the Real Madrid system? I think both are the best two individual players in the world. I think Messi is more talented overall, with the dribbles and the passing, and creating goal scoring opportunities for his teammates, while Ronaldo is the better pure goal scorer. That said, Ronaldo will DEFINITELY win Balon de Oro this year.
Messi > Ronaldo at passing, team play, creating, scoring, awareness on the pitch It's pretty simple, Messi is close to complete Ronaldo is not. Apart from the Fake Ronaldos scoring stats (they are impressive) he doesn't compare to Messi. I think we all know, for some strange reason you just dont like the genius that is Messi.
You make good points, but Ronaldo had a great World Cup in '06, and Euro's in '04 (granted it was at home), so it's not like he's NEVER performed at a major international tournament. I agree, very different players with different abilities. Saying that though I think Messi needs to be playing a very specific system with a very specific style of play, whereas Ronaldo is more capable of fitting into different sides with different approaches. The thing is, when Messi is in the right team, as we've seen over the past few years, he's close to unplayable.
