Three years ago, at 147, this is a really good fight. Now? It's a decent fight but not much more. Floyd has all the advantages in this one save his (self-induced) ring rustiness. It won't matter- he'll win a comfortable UD

Fraud's streak means everything in the world to him. If this fight goes the distance, the judges should award it to Cotto just for fun and to f*ck up Mayweather's life.

Well...even my MMA arguments actually make a lot of sense. All I ever said was that I think Jon Jones would be a great addition to the heavyweight division because the guys he's facing right now at LH are too small and weak for him. Henderson has only a lucky puncher's chance.
I don't know how Jones will manage to stay at LH for much longer since the division is almost fully cleared out. All we can do really, after Henderson, is wait and wait for a younger generation of fighters to come around. I'd rather see Jones vs the winner of Mir/JDS this year instead of Jones vs some no-hoper at LH.
    Anyway, back to boxing...

I might get around 20/1 betting on floyd to win in the 9th round. I'll also put a bet on a KO/TKO win at around 11/8.

In all honesty, Cotto SHOULDN'T win this fight. If he wins it's an enormous upset, IMO.

Floyd could beat him boxing, on the inside, mid range...any fucking way he chooses. Cotto's only advantage over Floyd is power, but when you consider the power-chin ratio...Floyd beats him in that. In other words...Floyd's punches are likely to hurt Cotto more than the other way around.

I can't see any scenario in which Cotto wins, save for a freak injury suffered by Floyd (or a bodyshot from hell which cracks a rib).

Fraud F*ckweather made sure he chose Cotto at the perfect time in Cotto's career.

He'd beat any version of Cotto. Floyd lost to Jose Luis Castillo, a skilless bum. Hopefully, Floyd injuries himself and Cotto can win a slim victory like that shitty bum Castillo did. Barring an injury, Floyd beats Cotto up like he stole something.Mayweather tko 12 or wide UD 117-111, 116-112, 116-112

Yeah yeah....I've been hearing this for years. Floyd ducked a prime Cotto, blah blah

When Floyd was at 140lbs, Cotto wasn't ready for him. When Floyd moved up to 147lbs, Cotto wasn't there yet. When Cotto finally moved up, Floyd already had bigger fish to Fry...Judah (former undisputed champ and still prime), Baldomir (THE undisputed champ at the time) and then De La Hoya at 154lbs.

Its hard to argue with this. This is the reason I have been so damn quiet. I cant vision a way for Cotto to win. All I can say is no one is invincible. We all learned that many times in boxing.

apparently mayweather jr. wants 8 ounce gloves for this fight, but cotto prefers 10 ounce.

from what i read, it's a particular kind of 10 oz. he objects to - ones he calls, "heavweight gloves." PBF claims it was because of such gloves that he looked mediocre against ODH.

he's happy with the 10 oz. gloves he and cotto have agreed to use, however, and says this kind will not slow him down.
