Well played Bayern, deserved it I thought. Let's just hope they rape Chelshit. They're at home so should be in the bag.

They must be favourites but Chelsea have a real chance, probably their best chance of winning the CL

I don't think Ronaldo should be blamed, honestly. He scored Madrid's 2 goals and he's the only really reliable player they have. The rest are just clowns.

Especially Sergio Ramos. WTF was that???

Look for Bayern to destroy Chelsea in the final. They deserve it this year.

Ronaldo gets a lot of stick and not all of it is justified. But once again, Crunch moment, fuck or walk....and he walks.

This, I don't blame the guy for the loss. He was up first and they had a chance after that miss.

You mean since he stopped scoring loads and loads of penalties, free-kicks and other goals against Wigan, Fulham and Bolton and started scoring loads of goals against Getafe, Murcia and Sporting Gijon.

Fair enough, he scored twice tonight (one a pen then he missed one) but in two World Cups and two Euro's (one at home), as part of the best and most successful Portuguese side since Eusabio and his mates kicked a ball about, he has scored less goals than Alan Shearer scored in euro 96. His massive average of ONE goal per tournament demonstrates his inability to hugely influence games at the highest level, though to be fair two of those came against Iran and North Korea (in a 7-0 romp).

Of course, he's scored 23 goals in three qualifying campaigns, against the might of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Luxemburg, Cyprus and Latvia (to name but a few of these football giants).

    Flat. Track. Bully.

Mourinho continues to be a joke of a coach. What a coward.

He has the most expensively constructed team in the history of the game and when they were clearly on the uptake, at home, he sits back and DEFENDS???...

Good riddance. The only thing worse than seeing Real win the CL would have been watching Mourinho GLOAT about it.

I think it's 65 to 56 for Messi as far as goals are concerned. Insane figures from both though.

    Did Gomez take a penalty?

Kroos and Lahm missed for Bayern, with Schweinsteiger scoring. The other two escape me.

In any event, Bayern on paper might be stronger. If Drogba had been sent off for Chelsea as he should have been, then I would be giving Chelsea no chance at all.

As it happens, so long as Drogba is there, Chelsea have a chance.

I get the issues with penalties but why bring up free kicks like that should be held against him? If the guy can score a multitude of goals from free kicks then all power to him :dunno:. If I was a world class footballer it's certainly something I'd like to have in my armoury.

Fact is, he scored against EVERY team in the Premiership. Not just the Wigans, Fulhams and Boltons, and he's scored (off the top my head) two crucial goals against Barcelona too, plus one in a Champions League final, and two tonight. He isn't going missing in the big games, that statement is not rooted in fact.

For the opening 40 minutes or so versus Chelsea in the final in 2008, he was the man. He was bossing Essien, and he scored. But after that he was no longer getting the better of Essien, he faded out of the game and his night culminated in his missing a penalty. The record will reflect that he scored and United won, but the reality is that he scored...then faded....and really, barring John Terrys slip, should have cost his team the trophy.

Versus Liverpool a few months later, he scored an early penalty, then just faded clean out of the game as Liverpool took over, winning 4-1.

Versus Barcelona in the final of 2009, he threatened early, then was nowhere as Barcelona took over.

Sure, its a team game, and he has done an awful lot of scoring, so he's not solely responsible for the rescuing of these dire situations, but Liam Brady made a salient point on Irish TV when he said that Ronaldo would swagger up to the ball to put a penalty away versus a Fulham or a Wigan, but when the heat comes on, he tends to fuck it up. Remember, he missed a penalty vs Barcelona in the first leg of the semi in 2008. In fact he has never scored for United vs Barcelona, if I recall correctly.

If everton had the chance to sign Ronald's or Messi this summer (stop laughing at the back!) then I'm 100% confident that Ronald's would score more goals for us than Messi would. BUT I'd enjoy watching Messi more.

People try to dismiss Ronald's because he score loads of goals against lesser teams. What a load of shite. I'd love a player who pretty much guarantees wins against roughly 75% of the league. Put it this way, mAn u would have walloped us and Wigan in the past few weeks. You win trophies by steamrollering the lesser teams and building momentum. Ronald's pretty much guarantees that.

Plus, he has performed in the big games too. Obviously not as often or as well as in the lesser games, but that's quite understandable. He's one of the best, or most effective, players I've seen live.
