Just called him a bunch of names. I'm sorry, I will chill out now. I have a crazy temper, and since this is the internet I can't reach out and punch someone so it makes me come off as a bitch. I don't deny this. I don't know how to handle not being able to do something about it when someone is talking shit.
Trust me, it's a whole different world in person when I can reach out and slap the shit out of someone.
I've been on a stretch of agreeing with you lately which means one of us probably needs to reevaluate, haha. Anyway, Rashad fought as a heavyweight, but I don't think he really was a heavyweight anymore than Chris Byrd was a heavyweight. Sure, he competed at the weight and did alright, but he didn't really belong there and I don't think his walking around weight is near as high as Jones'. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Evans could make 185. He seems softer at 205 than Stann, Vitor, and Henderson did, imo.
Well, to be honest, Hanz complaint is basically the same as saying Tommy Hearns shouldn't have been allowed to kill all those guys at 147 because he easily could have fought at Lightheavy with his frame. It's been said a trillion times already, but as long as Jones can legally make the 205 limit, that's where he should be. Seriously, the dude never comes in heavy. He's been 203 and 204 a bunch of times and has never looked significantly gassed aside from the Bonnar fight. Jones has unnaturally long legs and a reach like Lennox Lewis. His body style just meshes perfectly with his skill set. I don't know how anyone can fault him for exploiting those advantages for as long as he can.
Oh, I think Jones should cut down to 205 as long as he wishes to. That's completely a fighter's choice, imo. However, even though he makes weight every time and even comes in noticeably below the weight, I'll never believe he does it easily. I think he could easily carry 240 on his frame and with today's science (legit, not Sonnen), I'd guess he can carry 255 easy enough. I think he'd be a top heavyweight, perhaps even the best.
i'd say yea. jones has dominated everyone he's faced and is unbeaten. also, i think he beats silva handily at light heavy. soon, many will say that jones is the greatest mma fighter ever.
yup. i mean, look at his career and opposition he's thoroughly dominated. shogun, machida, jackson and maybe even evans were considered great fighters and imo, are all future hall of famers. i dont think beating henderson will add much, but based on hendo's recent streak, it will certainly look good on paper looking back years from now. if jones moves up to heavy, wins a title and defend it like twice or so and retires, i'd still put him way above gsp and silva.
