Gerald McClellan only KO'd one good 'name' fighter in Julian Jackson, and lets face it, Julian was never known for being a good 'fighter' - just a Mr Magoo-type-KO-machine.

Mayweather would be super-wary of Popo and would have to box out of his skin to get a decision...its either that or he's going flying through the ropes.

You make reference to Roger being sent "flying through the ropes" based on this idea that Frietas was some incredible puncher.

He wasn't. He was a guy with a heavily padded record who scored about 98% of his KOs against no-name guys in Brazil that were subject to weight restrictions he was given carte blanche to ignore. As soon as the comp improved, the big KOs disappeared. He couldn't make a dent in Casamayor or Corrales. Neither guy seemed particularly impressed by his punch, unless you were impressed by the bullshit "knockdown" in the 3rd round against Casamayor.

Roger was a significantly harder puncher than him. I have no doubts about it. I never saw anybody stun Chavez in his prime besides Roger. Frietas was floored numerous times by nobodies. At least Mayweather got put on his ass by good fighters. Those same guys would have shitkicked Frietas. Chavez, Rocky Lockridge, Whitaker... Those guys would each wipe their asses with him.

Roger was a much better boxer and hit harder. I have no doubt he'd land that sniping right hand and I have no doubt Frietas would be made very wary of him as a result. He can sob and thrust his arms in the air in joy after getting knocked out or quitting.

 

Frietas didn't exactly have a stellar chin himself. I don't think PooPoo's chin was that much better than Roger's.

And Roger had the edge in EVERYTHING else.
