He also takes extended breaks, LOK. And that sh*t's gonna catch up to him pretty soon. And he's 35 years old, not 25. He can't just take a year off and then hit the gym for 10 weeks thinking he's gonna retain all his speed, stamina and reflexes. And he looked like sh*t against that mexican scrub Victor Ortiz.
Mayweather's going down the Tyson route now.
Tyson trained but he didn't train as hard as he could. Mayweather is the same. He thinks he's training hard but inactivity is dangerous for a guy going into his late 30s.
    Mayweather is fooling himself.

    Good point.

Mayweather has only boxed 4 rounds in 2 years now. He's 35 years old. Reflexes are declining. He's extremely inactive and it's only a matter of time. Can't just take fights whenever you feel like it. Got to stay active as opposed to taking year long vacations and then hitting the gym for 8-9 weeks thinking you haven't missed a beat.

I never thought about that. This can be a factor. :bears:

    Nah. Not really.

If Vernon Forrest nailed Floyd with those right crosses and that vicious uppercut he nearly decapitated Shane with in their first fight, Floyd would've been KTFO. Also, peak De La Hoya landed everything including the kitchen sink on Shane who didn't budge. Watch Floyd vs over-the-hill, old ass Oscar. Huge difference.

    Father time is undefeated.

Training doesn't prevent you from losing your money. Floyd's had tax liens levied against him every year for the past 11 or 12 years...it won't take long for him to hit the poor house.

Cotto wins some early rounds, but is repeatedly beaten to the punch and eventually overwhelmed.

Bitchass Jake, you're in danger of losing your Puerto Rican citizenship with posts like this!

    lol

no one is arguing that fater time wins..

i'm saying i still think Floyd is in GREAT shape and his reflexes looked fine in his last fights..

more than enough for Cotto IMO AND he is still a MUCH greater fighter than Pac

Floyd's timing was off and he did look slow (for him) against Ortiz. Ortiz walks face first into right hands...he never gets out of the way of them. That's why Maidana continually caught him...that's how Berto dropped him and that's the punch Floyd repeatedly landed.

If fact, if you watch Ortiz's KO of Vivian Harris, Viv landed several straight right hands...Ortiz walked through them.

Whenever I see a guy repeatedly get hit by the same punch and he doesn't pick up the shot as it's coming in....meaning he never slips or parries the shot....it tells me that guy will continually be hurt and eventually KO'd by that shot. I wouldn't be surprised if Berto laid him out with the same shot...Ortiz walks into a right hand he never sees.

    With that said...

    Floyd has slipped.

Ofcourse Floyd has slipped. Name any athlete at the age of 35 that hasn't slipped. What is your prediction old man? I'll Holla 5000

I got Cotto via KO! I'll Holla 5000

He just fought about an hour ago.

  14. Seriously?

That's a HUGE prediction. I can't see it, but then again I couldn't see Tarver Ko'ing Jones either. I would have to be a one in a million shot.

  15. Hanz

    Hanz Roberto Duran

I never even dreamed it was possible for Roy Jones to lose. It was almost surreal when Tarver put him down like a piece of garbage! Never saw it coming!

Floyd Mayweather is 35 years old and is VERY VERY INACTIVE. He's fought 4 rounds over 2 years. It's only a matter of time...
    Let's go Cotto!
Kill this little overrated chicken sh*t cunt!!!

  17. I agree that it's a matter of time. I don't see Cotto being the one to do it though. I thought Ortiz had a good chance, to be honest. I was a little worried before that fight. Ortiz is a big strong young guy (lion) who hits hard, but most importantly hits from the southpaw stance.

Cotto is small, orthodox, predictable...I see Floyd timing every single Cotto attack.

  18. Hanz

    Hanz Roberto Duran

Ortiz was garbage from the start, Sly. Come on!
He even talks like a retard and he's a cheating cunt, trying to headbutt Mayweather when there was no reason to and then trying to make love to the guy right after.
Piece of sh*t got his couple of million and laughed it up. I hope he never gets another big fight again.

And a COWARD....yeah he show some bravado vs. Berto, but I always thought had he not scored that knockdown at the end of round 6/7..he would have probably quit in the following round. You could see that "I WANT OUT" expression on his face, but he landed that wild left that drop Berto right before the end of the round.

But don't try to discredit Ortiz greatness with SLY......Ortiz is a young lion and would have defeated both Cotto and Margarito....

  20. Ortiz isn't great, but he is dangerous. But this isn't really about Ortiz.

It's about what Cotto brings to the table to KO Floyd.

See...in some fights Floyd has needed a few rounds in order to get used to the pattern of his opponents, then he would adjust and then whup that ass. Against Cotto, he wouldn't need that adjustment period. He'd be whupping that ass from the opening bell. Short, orthodox, mid-speed, short armed, vulnerable guys are made to order for a guy like Floyd. That's a sparring session right there. That's easy work.

The Puerto Rican flag will be at half mast on Sunday morning.

Cotto is too slow to be any danger to Floyd. That is the bottom line. Unless Mayweather breaks his right hand, he will win with ease. Active or not, he is flat out better than Cotto.

  22. LOK

LOK I'll eat your asshole alive

    This.

To me, liking Floyd or not... You are not seeing reality if you don't see he is an excellent boxer and he is just on another level than cotto

Cotto is like the Rican Treacle Man with concrete boots in comparison to Floyd. He's gonna get lit up with right hands over his left rip all night.

I really do think Ortiz was a more dangerous fight than Cotto.

I guess one could argue that Ortiz was 9% dangerous and Cotto 8% .Neither is a dangerous fight which is why the little gay coward is fighting Cotto. I hope Cotto wins, but I suspect Floyd will be bouncing right hands off of his face like 50 cent bounces his sperm cells off of Floyd's chin.

That's what I'm saying. Based on pure physicality I think Ortiz matched up better with Floyd.

Cotto is a better fighter, but I can't think of a single thing he brings that even has the potential to trouble Mayweather.

He brings a body attack that his recent opponents have forgotten about.
