We'll see. I don't remember Cotto throwing many body shots lately.

Well there is the simple fact that Ortiz is garbage and Cotto is not.

Timing beats speed. Cotto has always shown good timing. Miguel's speed is also deceiving. Just like Mosley pointed out, He's faster then he looks.

Shane and Cotto fought five years ago.

    Miguel isn't any faster.

He better be throwing them against Floyd. All of Mayweathers recent opponents have been head hunting. Keep the jab in Floyds face as well. Floyd looked slow vs Oscar at 154. I think if nothing else Cotto makes Floyd fight wayy harder than anybody he has fought since Judah.

I've said since the fight was announced Floyd whips Cotto. Too short, too wide, punches too slow to beat Floyd.

I will say, if there ever were a case where a guy who outwardly seems like a good guy (Miguel isn't an angel by any means...just less vocal than Floyd) Cotto would be the right guy to be the first.

People say this cliche often as though it's clever. While it's true that timing beats speed, the saying is assuming that the slower guy has superior timing to the faster guy. While this would be true if Floyd fought pacquiao it is not true of Floyd vs Cotto. Floyd is not only faster than Miguel, he also has the best timing in the business.

Prime Oscar would've sh*tted all over Mayweather. Mayweather as always manages to find the guts to fight guys who are at the end of their careers. Oscar, Shane and now Cotto.

I thought Mosley and Cotto was a draw. He didn't look that good and his ability to time is overrated because of that. Shane and Floyd have some similarities both dumb, annoying and fast handed. That is where it ends. Floyd can fight, has straight proper punches. Mosley looks like a retard on speed. Floyd will smash him at will unless his brittle hands give. fLOYD LOST TO THE SKILLEss BUM Castillo when he injured his hands and Cotto is a light year better than that bum.

prime DLH would get picked apart and destroied by prime Floyd

the fight wasn't even that good.. Floyd took his time, at a higher weight.. .figured DLH out and whupped him

trouble with DLH is in his prime he liked to fight small ass guys and old ass guys

when he fought Tito, Quartey, Pea.. he wasn't dominate at all

BS! Come on X. Have you forgotten how awesome DLH was in his prime? Floyd had never in his prime even fought anybody as close to a prime Oscar. Floyd got Oscar at the end of Oscar's career. oscar only took the fight for the mega millions and didn't even train hard. He had no desire to actually win. People on here were actually kinda pissed at Floyd for looking so sh*t against a shot oscar. Floyd didn't convince anybody that he was the best boxer in the world. It makes sense now why he handpicks his opposition at the right time.

You keep throwing Corrales and Castillo in there...but I have no problem with Mayweather competition at 130-135. But since the Castillo fights he has been very smart of who he fights...and when he fights them.

Ortiz? LOL...very risky fight there for Mayweather....

Hatton at 147? Really...yet Hatton as an opponent was much better than that BUM you love throw around Carlos Bumdomir...i'm surprise you didn't list him..

Oscar was NEVER "awesome". Not even in his prime.

Fighters who were AWESOME in their primes include; RJ, Ali, Duran, Chavez.

    Not Oscar.

The Castillo fights were 10 years ago. Since those fights his willingness to face the best is questionable at best.

The one thing he learned from Oscar is how to cherry pick. With that said, as much as I hated Oscar he fought everyone there was to fight and later in his career he fought them when he should have. Early on he fought a murders list of small older guys, but as his career progressed he couldn't be accused of that as much.

Floyd has managed to do the opposite.

Floyd is f*cking garbage. He just gives his back all the time whenever Oscar mounted offense. The fight they had was one of the worst in history. Boring crap. Even Chris Byrd fights are more exciting than that garbage. Floyd didn't prove anything other than that he can barely scrape by a shot Oscar. Looking at Floyd's face, he took his share of lumps with his swollen eye. And Oscar didn't even use his jab at all. When he did use his jab, Floyd had no answers.
