I saw that live and thought it a complete fluke. I've since watched it a thousand times and I'm still not convinced he meant it. Additionally, it was Nikos friggin' Dabizas he turned, so that devalues it IMO.

Always the case :blackcloud: To be fair, though, between Asprilla, Shearer, Ginola, Cisse, Hatem and (of course) the honourable Lord Beardsley of Longbenton, we've seen a fair few worldies at the right end over the last couple of decades too...

Everytime I watch Beardsley, I think of George Best. The two were very similar.

Him & Scholes are linked more in my mind.

Did they ever play together for England? That, I'd love to see.

aye it's a very short period of overlap around 95, 96 where it might've been possible. Scholes coming on as a sub or something

I just bring it up because of i was making an all time Hut-ford United, they'd both be in it. McStay, Xavi & Scholes in a three man midfield, Beardsley & Henrik up front. That'd work.

Aye you're right, Beardsley retired in 96, Scholes debut 97

I forgot to add to my comment which you've added, which was that Scholes didn't make his international debut til '97.

Yeah I know. Liverpool cannot beat Fulsham at home in the league but go into tomorrows game with European Cup-Finalists Chelsea with a 50-50 chance of winning. Such is how it is. Arsenal by that same token would probably lose to Chelsea but rout almost every other lesser outfit. Its all psychology. Dalglish is the sort of frail fellow who has gotten used to climbing Everest, but mere hillocks and drumlins seem to present the sternest of tests for him.

Villa fans must be disgusted. The same thing happened with Birmingham when they were relegated, their players were out on the rip and getting into trouble. Collins, Delph and Herd are morons. People take this shit seriously and to see their players, with their mortgages and cars paid for, out on the rip, taking the piss out of the fans like that....:shit:

Football really does contain a disproportionate number of complete gobshites relative to any other cross-section of society.
