About a Pacquiao fight? Yes the obligatory question :kidcool:

For me, I'm not sure, not that much.

It's clear both Pacquiao and Floyd are significantly past their best, but one of the reasons Cotto made it close was a physical strength advantage over Floyd. It was the only way he could control Floyd, and he made good use of it, bullying him on the ropes etc, making Floyd uncomfortable for a lot of the fight. Pacquiao obviously doesn't have a physical strength advantage, or the style to use it.

I've given up on it, and the bottom line is that its an old Floyd vs an older Pac, and not the fight it could have been three years ago. It will probably be the defining example of all of whats wrong with the American sports/society model for decades to come. Everybody is a business man. Everybody is the main man. Everybody is entitled to more than the next guy. Net result is that fuck all gets done.

Anybody who might be giving Pac a better chance now won't feel the same after Pac struggles with Timmy.

Cotto does better against boxers than Manny does. Everybody knows that.

Floyd would fuck that Pinoy up.

No, I still think FLoyd's too smart for Pacquiao. I think Pac's chance is to use the same strategy as Cotto. Make Floyd work from the ropes and hope to tire him out with bodywork and combinations. There was one round where Cotto really wore out Mayweather. You could see it in his facial expression once the round was finished. Unfortunately, it seems Cotto could not sustain this pace for the rest of the fight.

Pretty unlikely. He'd win a cautious decision.

Not only too smart but too big...the Mayweather will have a significant size advantage..

Add those two things plus Pacquiao problem with boxers with a jab...and it doesn't look good for Pac.

whats funny (or not so much) is that if boxing does go down the shitter, ill blame these two (floyd) mainly for it. and thats how ill remember them

The fight's historical value is now pretty much moot. However, I do believe it has the potential to be a lot of fun, which is a good thing. Regardless, it will never happen.

I'm afraid Pacquiao will be defeated by Bradley...and sometime in January or February Mayweather fight Bradley and takes him apart...

The upset's a real possibility. Good fight. OTOH, if Pac dominates Timmy we're back to the future with Pac-Floyd

That is the only way Pacquiao bring some juice back into a fight with Mayweather if he dominates and crushes Bradley....

    No not really.

I still pick Floyd to win, but now I think it'll be more competitive....7-5.

I'll still be excited for the fight, but it has to happen this year for it to be relevant.

I agree with the consensus opinion though which is that they should have fought at the time when it would have been RED HOT...that is when Pac had just stopped Cotto.

Pacman has beaten everybody except Marquez much more impressively and far easier than Fraud F*ckweather. And Marquez fought Pacman at a lower weight class where he's most effective as opposed to going up 2 weight classes and with Fraud coming in over the limit.

Marquez also appeared to carry about 5lb more muscle against Pac than against Floyd and an equivalent amount less fat. Huge difference.

Save for Marquez, pac always looks better against the same competition. It doesn't change the fact that Floyd has a bad style for Pac, although I could see a Pac upset. He could catch Mayweather.

It's amazing how people neglect to mention the difference between the 2 Marquez's, even though they were both obviously old and past prime, the Marquez that showed up against Floyd kind of looked like a joke, he looked like a flabby super feather. The juiced Marquez that showed up against Pacquiao in the 3rd fight looked like a fucking 140 pounder, he was solid and muscled.

I should clarify, Floyd would have won comfortably anyway, as Marquez really has no advantages in that fight, or the style to trouble Floyd, but there was a big difference in how effective Marquez was at the weight between those 2 fights. He looked to be punching hard against Manny too.
