Floyd doesn't lose to Winky in a million years. Winky is a huge JM but even taking size into account, Floyd is too smart to lose to a one handed fighter. Cotto has a chance against Wright as well, and of course a puncher's chance against Norris.

Cotto-Vargas would probably be the most entertaining of these fights, that would be a real war. Vargas comes out on top, though.

The other guys.. too good for Cotto, too big for Floyd.

I agree, Winky was kind of good in his own way, but basic, and passive enough for Floyd to outbox and outsmart.

    Interesting observation.
If this is true, It really speaks volumes for PBF's durability.
I guess that would mean that PBF would be able to take Vargas' power relatively easily.

Cotto being more powerful than Vargas at 154 has to be a joke.

Floyd would just laugh at Vargas's big meaty junior middleweight punches.

Cotto's punches were hurting Shane, Vargas' had zero effect.

i may be in the minority here, but I am right and the rest of you are wrong.

I'd rather be hit by Vargas than Cotto.

Ohhh I thought we were talking about Vargas in his prime...Winky, Quartey and Trinidad....

Cotto was landing sharp clean punches on Mosley...but at no time did I thought either guy hurt each other.

Mosley wasn't liking the punches...he was about to give up (they way he gave up against Floyd) and then Cotto started to box and move an dthis si what spurred Shane on. Shane was discouraged.

Against vargas, however, he was just walking through the punches with ease. Vargas may have been somewhat faded but he still had his punch.

Shit if we are talking about that VArGAS then yes Mayweather would win...I thought we were talking about prime Vargas..the 1 that fought Winky, Quartey and Trinidad....

I like how before the Mayweather fight...Cotto vs Mosley was close and Cotto was lucky to win....but now MOSLEY was in the verge of quitting...:Chainsaw:

Cotto backed off because Shane was getting aggressive, it was a close fight and Shane didn't look hurt to me at any point in time. Vargas was BEYOND shot by the time he fought Mosley. I disagree that he still had his punch, making 154 in 2005-2006 must have weakened him a LOT. A young Vargas delivered punches with vastly superior speed and power.

Floyd Jr beats the Vargas who fought Shane, no question..

whats the difference, as soon as either lands clean on your glass canuck jaw it will shatter. i guess we could count the fragments and see who hit you harder?

Agreed, Vargas was looking kind of feeble by the time he fought Shane.

A prime Vargas hits considerably harder than Cotto. Cotto has heavyish hands, but especially at 154 there is no question Vargas hits harder, he was a big junior middle with a decent punch.

Vargas hit considerably harder than Cotto, it's not even fucking debatable.

    :giggle:

I take it you've fought both fighters?

Of course it's fucking debatable! Cotto causes more damage to fighters with single punches than Vargas did. 154 or not....Vargas being bigger doesn't mean he punched harder.

Welterweight Hearns punched harder than Light Heavyweight Hopkins.

That shit is retarded and you know it

Cotto has never been a hitter at all, not even close

    At 140, 147 or 154

Vargas absolutely hits harder than him

I don't need to have fought Roberto Duran and Juan Diaz to know which one of them hits harder... it's fucking obvious

Vargas is a harder hitter than Cotto I think. Bigger and stronger.

Cotto is a heavy handed guy for in his own right, but his power at 154 is not really all that devastating. Not like it was at 147 or 140 where he was either taking out guys for fun or giving them absolutely BRUTAL beatings while breaking some bones in the process.

I'm not saying Vargas beats Mayweather. I'm just saying that he's definitely without a doubt a harder puncher than Cotto.
