Some were thinking it would exceed 2 mill. Still good numbers, thanks in part to Cotto and Canalo with the whole Cinco De Mayo.

That ends the debate on whether Floyd is still a bigger draw than Pac in 2012 - no.

I saw where the gate was extremely high...I attribute that to Cotto moreso than Floyd.

Floyd's last few fights didn't draw well and there were tons of freebies given away.

I think Floyd is a bigger draw than Pacquiao. But its not by a whole lot.

I think they should split 60-40 or 55-45.

Both camps play too many games.

Interesting, I predicted higher, especially because of Canelo.

Floyd's popularity has started to wane it seems.

60-40? Are you serious? That would indicate that Floyd has FIFTY PERCENT higher PPV figures. It's not even close to that, if the 2011 figures plus this fight are anything to go by, their drawing power is almost identical.

Pac vs JMM 3 did about the same as Floyd vs Cotto.

Pretty much. I was expecting a 1.8 million type of number. I guess these numbers aren't final, but 1.5 million with Canelo on the undercard is quite disappointing if anyone wants to make the case that Floyd deserves a higher split than Pacquiao.

I am glad that my second PPV boycott (after Margarito-Pac) made a difference. lol

Both Pac & Floyd's numbers have been on an upward trend since then. Pac-Marquez did way more than Floyd-Marquez, too

    Floyd-Cotto & Pac-Marquez did almost identical numbers

Yeah exactly what I expected. In all honesty I think Pac is now a slightly bigger PPv draw, but not by a big enough margin to argue about it.

Anyone claiming either deserves more is just wrong. It's a 50-50 fight if there ever was one. It will do well over 2M PPV buys too.

You can bet your ass that Floyd will directly compare his numbers with Cotto vs Pac's numbers with Cotto and price himself out of the fight though.

Marquez and Pac has some history between them. It was easier to sell since Floyd vs Marquez was being dismissed by many as a mismatch.

Yeah but Cotto is a flat out bigger draw than Marquez, and they had Canelo as support.

There's no question this card should have sold better than Manny vs Marquez 3, which lets not forget, many thought was a mismatch too.

This was the 6th highest butyrate in boxing history. Floyd's popularity isn't waning at all.
