Great movie. He was great in The Thing and Backdraft as well. I know Backdraft is cheesy, but his acting is enjoyable and you sympathize with Bull as a character.

 

One of my favorite exchanges in movie history:

Pam: [pause] Okay. Why would someone who doesn't drink spend hours at a bar, drinking water?
Stuntman Mike: You know, a bar offers all kinds of things other than alcohol.
Pam: Hmm, really. Like what?
Stuntman Mike: [pause] Women. Nacho Grande platters. The fellowship of some fascinating individuals, like Warren here.
Pam: Fair enough. So what's your name, icy?
Stuntman Mike: Stuntman Mike.
Pam: [pause] "Stuntman Mike's" your name?
Stuntman Mike: You can ask anybody.

I'm a big fan of both Russell and Stallone, but I thought T & C sucked.

It's too bad they didn't follow up Escape From New York sooner. Escape from LA was pretty weak. They should have come up with something cool for the Cleveland story.

 

Mine was the exchange between Stuntman Mike and Arlene that ended with this line from Kurt

Death Proof is an utter piece of crap, seems like a cheap Tarantino knock off. Easily his worst film. Planet Terror creamed it.

Just glad he made up for it with Inglorious Basterds.

 

, when did I say Planet Terror was Tarantino? It was part of the same double header, ie project Grindhouse, and out of the 2, planet terror is far superior, and generally I much prefer Quentin to Rodriguez.

And no, I exactly what it's supposed to be, and Planet Terror achieved it very well, emulating a low budget horror, Death Proof didn't. The only good bit is when he first starts flinging them around like ragdolls.

Nothing about it is up to Tarantino's usual standard, the acting, directing, camerawork, music, and especially dialog, it's just crap.

 

I should probably rewatch it as I have only seen it once, but I was very, very disappointed. I'm a big fan of every other film of Tarantino's, I even love Jackie Brown. Pam Grier is awesome.
