Floyd pulled a sugar ray Leonard trick and put extra weight into his track pants in order to appear heavier. Floyd weighed no different to his welterweight weight.

yeah that random bullshit from Mayweather when he looks less than spectacular against an opponent. For this fight he had "Hurting hands and had a fever or cold days prior to the fight..."

    Word.

He showed in the final round that he could have won easily if he elected to stay on his toes and box him up the entire fight. But he wanted to trade with Cotto.

What we do know is that PBF weighed 3lbs below the limit and cotto weighed 154 on the dot. Now does cotto usually gain weight entering into the ring. If so then we can speculate that he was heavier than 154. What we do know about floyd is that he usually dont gain much weight entering into the ring. So cotto could have easily weighed 10lbs more than floyd. Which means that he was stronger and able to have his way. Kinda like thw way dlh was able to so when they fought at 154. Point is floyd has no business at 154. Hes not a jr. Middle. But floyd said he lost weight and got down to 147. Take it for what its worth. As far as the fight being tougher than expected has more to do wit cotto then anything else. Dudes plan was to apply the castillo plan which he did very well. I'll Holla 5000

I think Floyd did well on the inside considering he was probably outweighted by 15 lbs by the time they got into the ring. How easy some of you forget that.

If Floyd said he had 2 cliteruses instead of testicles, would you believe him?

"Ovaries" would be more relevant in this attempt at humour.

I considered ovaries, but found cliteruses more amusing and surreal.

Surely you don't really believe Floyd fought that way to please fans? That's just how he fights now, he's lost most of his mobility, plus Cotto forced a fairly physical fight on Floyd.

Floyd did well, and is a very good in fighter, but he looked flustered for much of the Cotto fight. He would have been far more content pot shotting Cotto from the outside.

Floyd isn't really in it to please fans, his style has changed out of necessity.

Obviously, if it comes out of Floyd mouth, it may as well be written in the bible.

    I agree.

Floyd doesn't have the foot speed and reflexes to give a Corrales type of performance anymore, he has declined a lot in that department and we have noticed for a long time now.

To his credit, he has adjusted quite well to this new phase, he has gotten stronger and more skilled on the inside. Let's not forget he was going toe to toe with a stronger fighter with probably about 15 lbs of weight advantage. Back when he was at 130-135 we were all laughing at the idea of Floyd beating Welterweights or Superwelterweights and even more that he could stand with them on the inside as he has been doing successfully.

For sure, and I agree the transition is impressive. Honestly I find him far more watchable now, in a way it's more fun seeing him rely mainly on skill and defense as opposed to large part youthful athletic talent, speed etc.

He has an underrated chin too, I think all along people were kind of hoping Floyd had a crap chin, but evidently it's very solid.

You can easily put on a few extra lbs by loading up on water, carbs, and sodium.. if you keep your water intake up and lower your sodium/carbs to normal levels, you will likely have dropped the weight again within 24 hours or so

I much prefer PBF as a fighter now than the version that used to run away and pot-shot. I also think that he's a better fighter now.
