Apparently The Duke is on his last legs, and doesn't have too much longer to live. Crazy bastard neglected to take his HIV medication for years, and it cost him. The drug abuse didn't help either.
He looked bad in the last picture I saw. He's aged like crazy even since his aborted comeback attempt a few years back.
He doesn't have HIV. He said so. The dude has looked like the walking dead for years, how he was allowed to fight is beyond me.
I know, man. About 20 years since Bowe-Holy 1 as well. It's shocking to me. It doesn't feel that long.
And 9 since Lewis-Klitschko. It really doesn't feel that long ago, but many things have changed since then. The Klitschkos have dominated the scene since then, but for some reason they just haven't seemed that dominant. I guess they haven't had the opponents to make them look anymore than dependable and earnest. Perhaps Wlad had the opportunity to show he could come back from adversity when he got stopped by Brewster and Sanders (and beat Brewster in a rematch), but nobody other than Lennox has really tested Vitali. They've been solid, but I wouldn't call them spectacular. At the same time, they will each retire with all their marbles and lots of money. In that sense, they are winners and far ahead of the game in comparison to many champions who came before them.
they are total robot bums.. Byrd schooled one of them and made him cry about his little german shoulder hurting
Agreed and both were exposed. Mercer was exposed as a skilless bum with nothing other than heart and solid chin. Morrison was exposed as having no stamina or chin. After that fight Lennox Lewis and Bowe were finally recognized as being head and shoulders above the other young and up and coming Heavyweights.
I wouldn't say that about Mercer. I would say he was offensively talented but didn't seem to have that extra gear against adversity. Mercer had enough skill and ability to give Lewis and Holyfield all they could handle. I don't remember anybody lumping up Lennox's face like that, and Mercer was a point or so from drawing with Holyfield if I recall it correctly---the knee Mercer took was the difference on the scorecards.
Those pictures of Morrison are from at least a year ago. What is the source of him being on his "last legs"? Not that I don't believe it, but I'd like to read the article if there is one.
He was out of shape for Ferguson, but Holmes could make anyone not named Tyson look bad. Holmes gave Holyfield a hard time but he couldn't cope with Holy's workrate. Holmes didn't have cause to worry about Ray's workrate. Ray lacked the workrate or pressure to overcome Holmes' superior boxing.
Ya damn right he doesn't have HIV. He has full blown AIDS at this point. Apparently what happened is that about 5 years Morrison was taking his meds, and living healthy, and as a result started testing negative. This lead him to believe that he never had HIV in the first place. Therefore, he came off the meds completely and 5 years later, this is the result.
