I got majorly burned. I left court around 11:15 Am, got changed and went walking. Must have walked 12 miles or more.

  8. Jimmy

Jimmy The Greatest of Are Times

you walked for 12 miles? were you bored?

  9. Irish

    Irish Yuge, Beautiful

    I'm never bored.

It was probably more than the 12 miles in any case. I walk a lot now to keep the weight down. My shoulders are burned, they never really get a lot of Sun, my face is fine.

Jimmy The Greatest of Are Times

how long did it take you to walk 12 miles? 2 hours, 3 hours?

  11. Irish

    Irish Yuge, Beautiful

Well, generally 2 hours sees me cover the distance involved if I used the motorway. If I go round the hills, its a few miles more and its closer to three hours, sometimes more. It really was pilgrimage-hard, my back was soaked with sweat. I think I racked up 22 miles today between the walk in and the walk out. My hands get very sore doing it because the arms just dangle by the sides and have limited circulation. I wish I knew how to use those route-mapper things I'd show you the route.

On the way back, I climb this hill:

    The top looks like this:

Its pretty hard, there is no path, its all rough ground and roots. I then follow the trail down to the roads, and start to make my home from there.

Seems like a nice place to go walking. Have you ever conquered Croagh Patrick? Do you think its as tough as people make out who've done it?

I've done the Great Sugarloaf, which has a recommended climb time, from where I do it, of one hour or more, I can do it in well under 30 minutes. Thats around 500m. Croagh Patrick is an extra 200m on top of that, I've never done it, but I am sure I could. The hardest part about all of these hills is the terrain, not the ascent per se. You are working much much harder trying to find somewhere to put your foot down, and lift your foot over the rocks and debris.

I've absolutely no clue on what he's up to now. Are there rumours he's in a witness protection scheme?

Manchester is a shit night out. You always end up getting taxis from pub to pub.

If you're going, you won't go far wrong with the Northern Quarter.

If you're after a beer garden, head to Dukes92 in Deansgate.

I have a feeling Liverpool is a far superior experience. I have a theory about coastal cities having the drop on inland shite.

Galway is probably a better night out than Vienna.

  29. Hut*Hut

    Hut*Hut The Mackintosh of temazepam

Cheers, Joe. I was thinking about gong down for a couple days to scope the place out, I'll be sure to check the northern quarter out.
