Bute was right to clinch. I felt that there were occasions when the ref stepping in harmed Froch, as Froch was clubbing him around the head. Moot point by now.
Dominated for 5 straight rounds & KOd then come back? cant think of any turn arounds from that off the top of my head
I'm not saying I'm picking Bute in the rematch. Based on the way the fight was described, Froch will obviously and deservedly be a big favorite. But Bute is good despite the fact that he got his ass handed to him tonight and Froch is quite beatable despite he apparently kicked some ass tonight.
Absolutely, that's what makes Frock so strange, and compelling. As you may remember, I first thought Frock was a sloppy bum who would have no success at world level, that's when I gave him the Fighting Farmer monicker. But yeah, his success defies logic. Usually guys as crude and slow as Frock surprise you by being competitive at elite level, yet as you say Frock somehow wins most of them.
:: The first two rounds were nap-tuck. He got hurt and Froch wouldn't let him off the hook. No biggie. Its not impossible for Bute to make a solid go of a rematch.
Once again I show my boxing acumen. I said for years Bute is a fucking fraud. He was knocked out by Librado andrade and you all made excuses. Bute is terrible and most of you have some explaining to do. Anyone have a link. i WOULD LIKE to see the destruction.
Precisely. mikE hasn't even seen the fight :: Frock beat the shit out of him, Boot literally looked like he didn't belong in the same ring. Contrary to popular belief pre fight, it was a mismatch. I can't believe Frock was the underdog. I can't think of any examples that fit this bill either.
There was no reason for any of you to ever say Bute was good. He is a fucking fraud , a chinny fraud as there ever will be. THEY guy was far from elite.
Froch didnt earn anything but a payday and a reason to stay at home. Ward's fight with Dawson is a much tougher scrap than the Froch match was.
Azumah/Leija series, Raf Marquez/Israel Vazquez series, Lennox Rahman, Bute Andrade, Norris Brown...they aren't all perfect comparisons, but they do stand for a similar principle...a followup fight doesn't always and often doesn't play out like the previous fight. I'm sure we could come up with all kinds of mma comparisons, as well.
??? How does that work? Ward is still THE CHAMPION in the division, he beat Froch with little trouble..... Yes Froch deserve a REMATCH, but if he wants it he needs to come back to the states....
This is accurate to a degree. Froch is pretty average, Bute is not entirely shit. But we are dealing with the intangibles here, its the intangibles that make the fights. Bute would do very well against Ward, assuming his confidence isn't shot. Ward doesn't have the brute mentality required to deal with somebody like Bute the way that Froch did. Its like asking a Great Dane to chase a rabbit the same way a terrier does. Its a matter of instinct, of breeding, of mentality. Froch beat Bute tonight for the technical reasons Hut has already mentioned but also because Froch is the sort of a dog that doesn't give a fuck about slick rats. Ward might look at the scurrying Bute with an expression of mild distanced disregard on his big droopy face. And the rat would be eating some good cheese while we waited for the droopy hound to finally get his act together. With Froch, it doesn't work like that. He tried to chase the droopy hound around and got outscored, easily. But a rat is meat and drink to Froch. Bute needs to do what Barrera did, he needs to finally realize that being a Rat isn't going to hack it, he needs to change up. Just as Barrera realized that he wasn't the big puncher he thought he was, Bute has got to change, find a way. He can do it, its been done before.
none of those fights were one sided in the way tonights was. Bute was rocked every time Froch touched him, there's no way he can beat him
The weird thing is, even taking chinnyness out of the equation, I'm just not sure what people thought was so good about Boot? He's an awkward southpaw with a good punch, but he's not even skillful or a good boxer, and he's nowhere near as fast as advertised.
All this fight did is setup a rematch with Kessler. Froch won't want Ward in the near term. He will say he wants Kessler first because Kessler was the first to beat him and he wants to avenge his first loss first. He doesnt want Ward. In his heart he knows he lost that fight going away. Kessler is an easier mark. He will stand directly in front of Froch.
Awful examples. Frock basically walked through him and gave him a 1 sided beating. It's like saying David Diaz would stand a good chance in a rematch against Pacquiao.
This is pretty much what I expected from the USA. When you fucks actually resume SHOWING FIGHTS, then you can get around to dictating. athetic: Froch has had ONE, ONE, ONE fight at home out of the last 8 before tonight. Time for Wardy to pack his bags, leave his vials at home, and come to Merry England. Froch did what nobody thought was on the cards, he's beaten the only other unbeaten guy out there, he didn't do it with headbutts or holding or wrasslin, he did it with clean punching. Fair is fair. Come to Europe, make the the fight.
Ah yes, then Kessler and Froch can knock lumps out of each other and Ward can fight whats left. Kessler and Froch should fight nobodies hence forth, and let Ward feed on scraps in the US. Won't be long before he's on the undercard of a Devon Alexander card in Lincoln City Nebraska.
Ward: I beat your ass once and I'll beat your ass again..even easier... Ward might need a confidence builder after the Dawson fight....so Froch wants IT he can get it.
Same. He lost a wafer thin decision away from home and I fancy he reverses it in a re. Always have thought so. For what it is worth, Ward beats Froch 99 times out of 100. Too fast and too slick. Froch would need 15 rounds to have a chance to wear Ward's speed down. MTF
Froch treated that gypsy like the fraud he was. He beat the shit out of Bute. Bute has a Terry Norris chin.
