SPOILERS INSIDE: Men In Black 3 beats the Avengers

As predicted by Anthony, Men In Black 3 dethroned The Avengers at the top spot with $55 million. While that is not a record breaker is Will Smith's third biggest opener ever. Still is way below the studio's expectations of $80 million opening. The fact that the last entry in the franchise is still widely reviled and that it took 10 years for the third film to materialize might explain some of this. But still it was solid enough to open at #1. The Avengers sliped to second place with a still impressive $37 million in its fourth weekend. The Marvel film has grossed now $513 million in just 23 days and will push The Dark Knight out of its third spot at the All Time domestic gross chart by Friday. Battleship continued sinking with a disastrous $10.7 million in its second weekend. If the studio honchos were samurai they would had comitted harakiri by now.

 

I'll watch it!

 

I thought it was okay. Just didn't seem to flow that well for me, and certain parts reminded me of the sequel which is a really bad thing. I also thought the villian was kind of lame and the dialogue was mediocre. Also, they kept asking why was K so moody like they were going to explain it, yet never actually did.

I think 3D has now combined with CGI to make studios even more lazier than before. Now we get halfassed scripts and stories because the 3D & CGI are the order of the day. On IMDB, the film has a higher score then the first MIB but I thought it was bad enough that I'll never watch it again. IMO the first MIB is still the only rewatchable one.

 

Me too. I love that franchise...even loved the second one!! :scared2:

I've never liked Will Smith in any role. He just acts way too god damn "black" when he doesn't need to. He's too good of an actor to be acting like a typical hoodlum out of the Bronx but he seems to feel a need to do it in case the black community considers him a sell-out for acting too white.::

Remember Independence Day? Will Smith's best friend is killed by an alien and several minutes later, Will Smith is doing the typical black man chest thumping "Whose the Man..Whose the Man???" stupid black man bullsh*t that made no sense in that particular scene.:laughing:

At least I had one. And it was two spaces up from the sentence. Don't know anyone who reads two spaces down before they start at the top. If they do, they deserve to have it spoiled for them.

 

Go watch Independence Day. He's acting like some dipsh*t uneducated prick from the hood.

I'll add to that the shit-eating-grin knowing-look he has all over his face like he's telling you: "Yeah, I know I'm good"

Fact is, this guy has totally run out of steam so the studios are looking to get him back on track.
And the only way to do that is re-visit the scene of his most memorable role.

 

Oh please Hanz. They probably had all that black stuff in the script. ID was one of the biggest Hollywood racist moments in movies I've seen.

Will's kid comes in his parents room where Will and Vivica Fox are sleeping in the middle of the day, and Vivica says "it's too early baby" and then lays her head back down. Meanwhile all the white people in the neighborhood are awake and looking at the space ship.

Then later in the movie when Jeff Goldblum has his brainstorm he needs the computer guy so he goes and finds the computer guy (who happens to be black) laid out on top of his computer asleep.

Then during the air battle one of the F-18's is about to crash. It isn't because it was shot, it's because they clearly show the pilot (who happens to be black) has fallen asleep at the controls.

Now I only made one of those up, but the rest actually happened. Stinking Hollywood with their little racist moments, getting on my nerves.

 

I heard he's doing "Hancock II."

Let's hope he gets to bone Theron in this one...that'll really make your blood boil. Might be enough to make Irish eat his own tongue.
