The Boys From Brazil (1978) Here is a very unusual, original and powerful thriller with a brilliant cast of Hollywood legends in their last great memorable roles. Gregory Peck plays former german nazi Angel of death Dr. Josef Mengele who is on a fanatical crusade to bring back Hitler and a Fourth Reich. For this purpose, a successful cloning experimentation takes place in Brazil where 94 Hitler clones are meticulously raised to reflect the exact events of the german dictator's childhood so at least one of them can become the new Fuhrer. Lawrence Olivier is the israeli nazi hunter who with the help of Steve Guttenberg discovers the nazi plot. The climax is brutal, bloody and awesome. It was great to watch these two screen legends in their late years going mano-a-mano in a very graphic fight. Very good thriller. Check out the crystal clear blu-ray version since the DVD versions are crappy looking, blurry and poorly transferred. 8.5/10
:bears:That is another good movie with Lawrence Olivier as the cold blooded killer. Great performance by Dustin Hoffman.
the best scenes in Marathon Man are Roy Scheider's fight scene and when Dustin is chased by the West Wing guy, that always makes me laugh.
Even though the best scene, and one of the most memorable scenes in any movie is the 'Dentist Scene'.
That was disturbing even by today's standards. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/kzw1_2b-I7A" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
