Regardless of the film the role is in or the limitations of the role...they single handedly enhance the film with their presence.

Liam Neeson (Qui Gon Ginn for example)
Anthony Hopkins (Thor was a very entertaining film, but not great, but his portrayal of Odin "All Father" was just tremendous and made the film even better than it was)
    Morgan Freeman (insert film here)

    Who else?

Morgan Freeman looks very out of place in a thread like this :tick:

i think Christian Bale and Johny Depp can pull any role off

I like Freeman here. Good choice. I also think Denzel does that too. He can make most lame or unwatchable stuff bearable.

Denzel, Hopkins, and Hackman are the top 3 IMO.

Those 3 could make a movie about paint drying watchable.

I'm not going to dispute that. You may be totally right. The amazing thing is, my point still stands. Freeman is just a really entertaining guy. He just oozes charisma.

So does Christopher Walken, but put him in any random scene in any random movie..........and I'm gonna watch it.

I love Christopher Walken. He was the cherry on top in Mouse Hunt. But even he couldn't save Envy.

As a serious response, I'm honestly not sure.

Actually I think my answer would be Takeshi Kitano, I find him incredibly watchable, and I'm pretty sure I've enjoyed every film I've seen him in.

If De Niro didn't start appearing in complete crap, he'd definitely be my second choice.

    Freeman in "Wanted"

Insanity is wasting your life as a nothing when you have the blood of a killer flowing in your veins. Insanity is being shit on, beat down, coasting through life in a miserable existence when you have a caged lion locked inside and a key to release it.

...Otherwise, shoot *this* motherfucker and let us take our Fraternity of assassins to heights reserved only for the gods of men! You choose.

Okay, yeah. There's one that Freeman couldn't save. No way I'm sitting through that stink bomb again. I can't believe it's got a 6.7 on IMDB. What a shit movie that was.

ok then so it comes down to taste for each person

so the thread should be changed to "actors that will persuade you to watch any movie"

    by the way
Morgan Freeman sucks at playing a bad guy...he has to be a nice guy....that movie with Bruce Willis and Josh Harnet, he sucked in that and looked way out of place

Bruce Lee. He wasn't a great actor, but he had so much charisma that even in small roles in mediocre films like "Marlowe" or "The Green Hornet" tv series he steals the show. I put him next to James Dean, Humphrey Bogart & Marilyn Monroe in the superior charisma club: you just can't take your eyes off these actors.
