    "Knowing" is the best movie on that list, but that's not saying a whole lot.

    "Deep Impact" a distant second.

    Hell, "The Happening" is better then some of the movies on that list. At least it had Mark Wahlberg talking to trees, instead of animals.

    Knowing, The Core, and Deep Impact are all good movies.

    Armageddon is too cheesy for my liking, but its decent.

    Day After Tomorrow and 2012 are both terrible movies.

    Never saw Meteor.

    Meteor was very good back in the day (was the very first disaster film I ever saw) but if you see it now it's TERRIBLE.

    Concept was the same as Deep Impact/Armageddon....but this time they combined US and Soviet satellite based Nukes to blow it up. It was Cold War propaganda.

    DAT and 2012 are terrible, agreed....especially 2012.

    Armageddon has great rewatchability though even though it can be cheesy.

    I'd say out of all those movies, The Core has the highest rewatchability by far.

    I'd agree. Love that film.

    I still cringe when "BRAZ" has to go into the impella outlet which has a temperature of 9000 degrees, when his suit can only withstand about half of that.....on a one way trip in order to fix the "master hydrolic gear".

    You know of what I speak! :doh:

    Damnation Alley is a terrible film. Even George Peppard was awful in that one. For my money I'll still give me vote to the granddaddy of 'em all: When Worlds Collide. That 1950 George Pal film slowly build its tension reaching the climax of 'who will stay, who will die'. And it delivers in the sense that at the end there isn't a miraculous last minute gimmick to save mankind...the entire planet is destroyed and only a handful escape to the new planet Zyra. Of course the special effects now looks laughable, but for its time it was/is an amazing film.

    Anyway, you know why this movie bombed? Not only was it shit, anyway, but the studio (20th Century Fox) were going to release this movie in early 1977, but had problems ith Special FX...so, this was put on the back-burner and 20th-C Fox released another movie instead: 'Star Wars'.

    Game Over. :lol:

    You are right.It was delayed and Star Wars came out and revolutionized the whole genre and the special effects. When this film came out with its pre-star wars silly effects it was laughed loud by audiences (as well as that stupid sequence of 'we-are-being-attacked-by-giant-mutant-cockroaches!':laughing:

    The world isn't anywhere near completekly nuked.
    If it was, they'd be no need for the Terminators or machines to continue wiping out mankind.

    World didn't actually end in any of those other movies either.

    I say it fits and is a good choice, I hadn't thought of either. :bears:
