Says he's not impressed by Froch, and that he would be the first to stop him.

    Anybody give Pabstvlik a chance?

He punches hard and Froch has been hurt before so yeah, he'd have a chance. It would be a fun fight. Froch's style would make sure Pavlik has a chance, he's no Hopkins or Martinez.

Prime Pavlik might be a different story, but Froch pastes this version to the canvas.

Agreed. Even so Pavlik will get punched out if he were to face him next. He still needs to shake off more ring rust if he wants to have a legit chance against Froch.

    Won't happen.

Golden Boy will need a threatening opponent to drop out of a fight pretty soon, so they'll wrap up Pavlik before Froch can get to him.

Yeah he beats this version easily, plus albeit a BIG middleweight, Pavlik looks nowhere near as effective at 168.

I'm not sure if I'd even pick Pavlik to win a drinking contest.

Lets not forget Froch was losing rounds to Taylor and was hurt in that fight. To not give Pavlik a chance is crazy.

Have you seen Pavlik fight since Hopkins? He's not the same guy that fought Taylor.

    Frock beats him up.

Well if you think about it the vast majority of the big name guys are kind of getting on a bit, and obviously they are the guys who are not the fighters they were, rather than the Gamboas of the world, and then even the Broners of the world.

But out of the name guys, funnily enough the main ones I can think of that haven't changed much are most of the Super 6 guys, Frock, Kessler, Ward, etc. Ironically Cotto is a guy who has always looked the same to me too, and he is someone that most of this board thinks is shot

Pavlik is one of the prominent examples though, needless to say, despite being relatively young it would be a bit silly to even expect him to still be prime, given his problems, alcoholism, rehab and all that. He's not your average case scenario.

A more average case is a guy like Marquez who is not the fighter he was, but still amazingly effective.

Who knows though, I could be wrong, people said he looked good destroying a scrub recently

Pavlik is another one Im suspending judgement on. He was never as good as people thought to start with & then he mainly got written off for losing to Martinez. So he's shot because he only won 5 rounds vs the guy the same people say is p4p No3..... I just cant keep up

PAVLIK IS less shot then just being overrate to begin with. Even after he kayo'd Taylor, I said he just isn't good. I picked Hopkins over him too. Pavlik is a fun fighter. I never miss his fights. I love his style. You might even consider me a fan. His name should be bandied about like Gatti's was. He is more of a fun fighter than a good fighter.

Pavlik was a good fighter, but he was also a media creation (in a sense) because people wanted someone to be a challenge to Calzaghe at the time.

Gatti isn't my hero. He was a great tv fighter and so is Pavlik. Pavlik is better, but he still isn't a great fighter. He is far from it. Don't miss the forest for the trees, X.

Never said Pavlik was a great fighter. Unless you compare him to Gatti, in which case he's Ray Leonard good.

Kessler? disagree Mex. Kessler has been severely diminished since Calzaghe. He use to be a very sharp puncher. He is shockingly effective for how diminished he is. He has ha a lot of injuries. Kessler was once a very good fighter.

Na, I remember Joe was getting shat on by many for not taking on Pavlik. There were a lot of posters tipping him to win that match up too.
