That's good. Never could stand him, but at least he tried in his last fight and is getting out sooner rather than later. I am sure he will train future fighters to take steroids, cheat, get gift decisions and hold after hitting.

Shane was one of my favorites when I really fell in love with boxing. If he was just coming along now I probably wouldn't like him much, especially with all the EPO stuff, but I hope his brain isn't too rattled.

It is. He does a commercial for a local dealership during the live feed for Angel's game. He sounds like a retarded child taught to say simple sentences. I find his semi-popularity quite funny. He was boring in the ring, spoiled and entitled outside of it. He got punked by an ugly Asian women. I hate the stupid look on his face, his vacant eyes, his stupid empty phrases.

He somehow is touted as a tough man by fighter's standards. Yet, it is the most undeserved reputation in all of sport. His performance in the Forrest rematch was cowardly and unprofessional . He fought Vernon like he had mace in one hand and a tazer in the right. He basically quit in the first Winky fight. He nearly cried in the corner during the Oscar rematch saying something like "Daddy he gots a quick left hook" in a sobbing tone. Then he grinned like retard when he got the gift decision. He all but quit against Mayweather and Pacquiao. Yet, he is called a warrior. I would say 50% of fighters are tougher than he ever was.

now with all the spare time he'll have i hope he stays away from the tattoo parlor

he looks stupid enough with those cliche tats and needs to be cautious not to get anywhere near a Cotto-level

Pretty much agree with this. His warrior reputation is horseshit. He was terrified of being KOd.

great fighter and a future hall of famer. shane's one of the best lightweights i've ever seen although he was a bit frustrating to watch in the later years.

Never really got into him or his style. Always thought he was boring and overrated. Nevertheless, all the best to him in his retirement. Hope his bitch ex-wife (who used to post over at maxboxing at times, where all the geeks would kiss her fat ugly ass) doesn't wind up making him broke.

Yep. Agree with this too. Guy was afraid to let his hands go for a solid three years in the middle of his prime too.

No doubt, as I said in another thread, he is physically resilient, excellent chin, but he doesn't have the mental toughness, he's not a warrior no.

He used to be my second favourite fighter after Morales, I liked his frenetic, aggressive style, but after his first loss he was never the same, he became tedious and boring to watch.

He took one uppercut from Forrest and was mentally traumatized for the rest of his career.

I agree 100%. Shane seems like he's the pussy whipped type. The type that wears the skirt in the family. The new bitch will tell Shane to get his ass in the ring because she needs a new closet of shoes and he will.

Glad to see Shane do the smart thing.

He probably COULD have been remembered as one of the greatest 135-140 lb fighters in history if the money wasn't north of there.

One of the greatest 135 lb fighters who weighed 155 lbs on the night of his fights, maybe. Even then, how long do you think he could have continued doing that for?

    Who knows?

All I know is that he could have done it for longer if the money wasn't at 147.

I'm constantly surprised that boxing fans are screened on their right to hold opinions in a way no other sports fans are.

Bleh. No one said Mosely wasn't a tough guy for gen pop. He just wasn't tough for a fighter and he is reputed to be somewhat comically to me.
