    My eight would be,...in no particular order ....

    Robinson
    Leonard
    Napoles
    Hearns
    Trinidad
    Oscar
    Mosely
    Curry,...I almost went Simon Brown but I prefer Curry at his best

    Gotta go with the original SUGAR

    Its clearly between Leonard and Robinson.

    Hearns would always have a chance.

    Duran at his best would compete well with anybody.

    At their maximum potentials, give me Hearns or Robinson. Hearns woulda/coulda/shoulda beaten Leonard in their first fight. I haven't seen Robinson fight at WW that I can make a conclusive decision.

    Me thinks you don't know what a round robin is, haha.

    If Ring Magazine ran this tournament, I would bet on Robinson coming in first, Leonard second, and Oscar third.

    Robinson would be my pick, because I think overall he's got the best all-around game and attributes. I don't think Oscar, Trinidad or Mosley beat any of the rest of those guys at their respective bests

    I try to think of it like a giant league when I rank a fighter all-time

    I think if you took all of the welterweights ever and had a season like you do in other sports, at the end of the season Robinson would be in first place. I think people tend to get too stuck on the idea of "If fighter A is the best fighter in the history of whatever division, it means that he must beat every guy that was ever in that division" ... I think that's a weird way to look at things in a sport with so many variables and styles. I think Ray Leonard would have more difficulty beating Pernell Whitaker than Thomas Hearns would, but Ray Leonard beat Thomas Hearns.

    There's no such animal as the fighter who beats everyone ever.

    I for the life of me struggle to get my head around on how there's so limited footage on a welterweight Robinson.

    I'm sure there has to be some sort of vault or library that has soe more stuff because its mind boggling.

    Sammy Angott was one of the better fighters of the 1940s and was the "1" in the L column of Willie Pep's 135-1-1 record heading in to the first Saddler fight. He fought basically every good-to-great fighter within three weight classes over a 10 year period multiple times a piece and finished with a record of 94-29-8

    Same here. He was a big celebrity in the 1940s, It's kind of amazing that there isn't more out there. As far as I know, these 7 or 8 fights, none of which are complete, are all there is. I searched high and low.
