Too bad for him. If his chicken sh*t ass had signed for the fight in '96 then maybe he would've stood a better chance instead of relinquishing the WBC belt.
...and nearly all of them picked Tyson by brutal KO within the first 3 rounds (or whenever he landed a solid punch) and then changed their stories after the fight saying they actually knew Lewis would win because Tyson was shot, having a bad day, didn't eat enough fresh vegetables, etc...
'03 Tyson had Lewis backpedaling like he was in a Spin class. '88 Tyson would have him shitting his trunks during the ref's instructions.
Seriously I just think it says a lot about Lemmon that he only signed to fight after hearing Mike was banned from almost every state and seen not fit to fight due to antidepressant medecince
Your hero was running scared for years! Fighting handpicked bums and trying to avoid the Lewis fight.
One of the most ridiculous message board talking points is the notion that Tyson ducked Lewis. Get something straight. Lewis needed Tyson, not vice versa. Tyson was making a shitload fighting no one. He took a fight he never had to. He could have easily milked years more of fighting bums. The fact that the fought Lewis at all is overwhelming evidence that Tyson was not a coward. If he were, HE WOULD HAVE"Mayweathered" Lewis and he didn't.
Except his Lewis is Pacquiao and he is ducking the shit out of him, even beating his baby mama to avoid pac.
He didn't really backpedal, other than what, the first ten seconds of the first round? If you mean he didn't open up soon enough then yeah, sure. Everyone knew going in though that keeping Tyson at range was going to be Lewis' gameplan. I think Lewis beats 80's Tyson, always have done, though obviously in a much harder fight.
